فراتحليل: رويكردي به تلفيق و ارزشيابي پژوهش هاي علم اطلاعات و دانش شناسي

Meta-analysis: an Approach to Synthesizing and Evaluating Research on Information and Knowledge Science

كندوكاو در پژوهش ها براي رسيدن به نتايج مطمين، رفع تناقضات موجود در انواع مطالعات، و كشف شكاف هاي دانشي از عمده اهداف پژوهش علمي است. فراتحليل، مروري سيستماتيك براي نيل به اين اهداف با تحليل آماري يافته هاي كمي حاصل از مطالعات مربوط به يك مساله پژوهشي است. اين مقاله بر آن است تا زمينه اي مقدماتي براي مطرح كردن اين نوع تحليل در مسايل پژوهشي مختلف رشته علم اطلاعات و دانش شناسي فراهم سازد، به همين سبب، به روش مروري و تبييني به پيشينه، روش ها، رويكردهاي آماري، فرصتها و چالش هاي فراتحليل در اين رشته پرداخته است. فراتحليل، مراحلي منظم و مدون دارد. تلخيص آماري نتايج مهمترين بخش اين مراحل است كه سه رويكرد عمومي دارد. با وجود اهميت فراتحليل در توسعه و بلوغ هر حوزه علمي، اين نوع مطالعه در اين حوزه هنوز چندان شناخته شده و رايج نيست و در انجام آن نقص و ناهماهنگي وجود دارد. نويسندگان مقاله هاي پژوهشي و سردبيران مجلات بايد رهنمودهايي را براي تدوين مقاله پژوهشي مناسب براي ورود به فراتحليل مدنظر قرار دهند. اين بررسي گامي در جهت شناساندن مباني و منابع فراتحليل به جامعه علمي اطلاعات و دانش شناسي در حكم رويكردي نو و ضروري به تلفيق و ارزيابي پژوهش هاي روزافزون اين رشته –به ويژه پژوهش هاي داخل كشور- است.

Introduction and Objective: Enquiry into researches for achieving more confirmed results, removing existing discrepancies among various studies, and discovering knowledge gap are of main concerns of scientific research. As a systematic approach, meta-analysis tends to orientate this goal by statistical synthesis of quantitative results obtained from independent studies relating to a research problem. This article aimed to set forth an introductory context for conducting meta-analysis in the various research problems of information and knowledge science (IKS). Method: This analytical review article described the history, methods, statistical approaches, and challenges and opportunities of meta-analysis in IKS. Findings: As a systematic review, meta-analysis has some ordered and written stages directed by a protocol. Statistical summarization of the findings of included studies is the main stage which has three approaches. Despite its importance in developing a scientific field, meta-analysis has not been widely known and conducted in LIS field and there are some discrepancies in its conduct. The authors of original research articles and journal editors should consider some guidelines for authoring them in such a way that they can be easily included in meta-analysis. Originality/value: This study is a step for introducing the principles and references of meta-analysis to IKS scientific communication as a new and necessary approach to synthesizing and evaluating the increasing studies in IKS, especially those conducted in Iran.
