Exploring Role of Islamic Revolution of Iran in Revival of Islamic Awakening in Saudi Arabia

بررسي نقش كانوني انقلاب اسلامي ايران در احياي بيداري اسلامي مردم عربستان به‌خصوص در دهه‌هاي اخير با روشي تحليلي- تبييني، هدف اصلي مقاله حاضر است. سوال اصلي اين است كه «انقلاب اسلامي ايران و ماهيت آن چه تاثيري بر خيزش‌هاي اخير مردم عربستان داشته است؟» و در پاسخ، اين فرضيه مورد آزمون قرار گرفت كه «تاثير انقلاب اسلامي ايران در حوادث عربستان، طي سال 1979 ميلادي به صورت كوتاه‌مدت در راهپيمايي‌ها و اعتراضات مردمي جلوه‌گر شد و در درازمدت نيز روحيه شجاعت و قيام براي خواسته‌هاي خود را در آنان دميد». يافته‌هاي تحقيق نشان مي‌دهد كه با پيروزي انقلاب اسلامي ايران، انعكاس صداي انقلاب ايران در جاي‌جاي كشورهاي منطقه به ويژه كشورهايي همچون عربستان كه شيعيان آن بيش از ديگر اقليت‌ها در انزوا به سر مي‌بردند، عاملي بود تا مردم اين كشور در هم‌آرايي با اين ندا، بپا خيزند. اين روند به تدريج پس از سه دهه به‌گونه‌اي ديگر در جنبش‌هاي اخير اين كشور متجلي شده و در حوزه‌هايي چون معنويت‌گرايي در عرصه سياست و قدرت، خلق اراده جمعي و عدم خشونت، ساختار و قدرت شبكه‌اي و اتحاد جمعي بدون نگاه‌هاي غيريت‌ساز از محتوي و ماهيت انقلاب اسلامي ايران تاثير پذيرفته است.

The main goal of this paper is to review role of the Islamic Revolution of Iran in the revival of the Islamic awakening in Saudi Arabia, especially in recent decades, through an analytical-explorative approach. The main question is: “What impact has the Islamic Revolution in Iran had on recent uprising of Saudi people?” To find an answer, the following hypothesis has been tested: “The impact of the Islamic Republic of Iran on Saudi developments in 1979 was short-term and in the form of popular demonstrations and protests. In the long-term, however, the Islamic Revolution inspired Saudis with a spirit of valor and encouraged them to rise up for their demands.” Findings show that after victory of the Islamic Revolution, the repercussion of the Iranian revolution in regional countries, especially countries like Saudi Arabia where Shias are a repressed minority, was a factor which encouraged people in those countries to rise against governments. Gradually and after three decades, this trend was repeated in recent Saudi uprisings and has been inspired by the Islamic Revolution in Iran in such areas as spirituality in politics and power, creation of collective will and abstinence of violence, a networked power structure, and unity among the nation without marginalizing any group.
