برآورد تاثير نرخ هاي متفاوت تورم بر نرخ رشد اقتصادي و تعيين حدّ آستانه اي نرخ تورم در ايران در قالب مدل هاي غيرخطي

Estimation of the Effect of Different Rate of Inflation on Rate of Economic Growth and Determination of Threshold Limit of Rate of Inflation Using Nonlinear Models

درباره ي تاثير نرخ تورم بر نرخ رشد اقتصادي، ديدگاه هاي متفاوتي وجود دارد. برخي معتقدند ميان نرخ تورم و نرخ رشد اقتصادي رابطه ي منفي وجود دارد. برخي نيز اعتقاد دارند ميان نرخ تورم با نرخ رشد اقتصادي يك ارتباط مثبت دارد. عده اي نيز معتقدند كه يك حد آستانه اي براي نرخ تورم وجود دارد. در نرخ هاي پايين تر از حدّ آستانه اي، رابطه ي نرخ تورم با نرخ رشد اقتصادي مثبت است. در نرخ هاي بالاتر از حد آستانه اي، رابطه ي اين دو متغيّر منفي است. تبيين چگونگي ارتباط ميان نرخ تورم با نرخ رشد اقتصادي در ايران، موضوع با اهميتي است كه در اين تحقيق به آن پرداخته مي شود. در اين مقاله، با استفاده از داده هاي دوره ي 1339-1387 و با به كارگيري يك مدل غيرخطي، ارتباط ميان نرخ تورم و نرخ رشد اقتصادي مورد بررسي قرار گرفته است. نتايج مدل غيرخطي برآورد شده به روش CLS گوياي آن است كه يك نقطه ي شكست ساختاري براي نرخ تورم وجود دارد، بدين معني كه تورم، بر روي رشد در دو سطح مختلف اثر مي گذارد. نقطه ي شكست به دست آمده براي اقتصاد ايران در نرخ تورم، 10 درصد است؛ يعني نرخ هاي تورم، در سطوح زير 10 درصد تاثير مثبت و معني داري بر رشد دارند و نرخ هاي تورم بالاي 10 درصد، تاثير منفي بر رشد دارند.

There are different points of views about the effect of the rate of inflation on the rate of economic growth. Some economists believe that there is a negative relationship between the rate of inflation and the rate of economic growth. While some other state that there is a direct relationship between the rate of inflation and the rate of economic growth. Another group of economists believes that there is a threshold limit for inflation rate. If the rate of inflation is lower than threshold limit, there is a direct relationship between the rate of inflation and the rate of economic growth. But if the rate of inflation is higher than threshold limit, the relationship between these two variables is negative. Determination of the relationship between the rate of inflation and the rate of economic growth is an important subject in Iran’s economy which will be discussed in this research. In this paper, using a nonlinear model and time series data of 1940-2008, the relationship between the rate of inflation and the rate of economic growth is estimated. Results of estimated nonlinear models with CLS approach shows that there exists a structural failure point for rate of inflation. This means that rate of inflation effect on the rate of economic growth within two different levels. The failure point for rate of inflation in Iran economy is 10 percent. Rate of inflation below 10 percent has a positive and significant effect on the rate of economic growth and the rate of inflation higher than 10 percent has a negative effect on the rate of economic growth.
