ارتباط ويژگيهاي شخصيتي، حمايت اجتماعي و رضايت از زندگي با عملكرد تحصيلي دانشجويان

The relationship between personality characteristics, social support and life satisfaction with university students’ academic performance

تلاشهاي نظري و پژوهشي صاحبنظران متعدد موجب گسترش فزاينده اي در تحليل و تبيين عوامل مرتبط با عملكرد تحصيلي شده است. از آنجا كه عملكرد تحصيلي دانشجويان به عنوان معيار مهم كيفيت نظام آموزش عالي در نظر گرفته مي شود، مطالعه عوامل مرتبط با آن اهميت ويژه اي مي يابد. پژوهش حاضر با هدف ارتباط ويژگيهاي شخصيتي، حمايت اجتماعي و رضايت از زندگي با عملكرد تحصيلي انجام شد. روش پژوهش از نوع توصيفي- همبستگي بود. جامعه پژوهش شامل كليه دانشجويان دانشكده علوم انساني دانشگاه كاشان بود و 250 دانشجوي زن و مرد به روش نمونه گيري طبقه اي انتخاب شدند. به منظور جمع آوري اطلاعات از پرسشنامه پنج عاملي شخصيت نيو (NEO-FFI)، مقياس حمايت اجتماعي شربورن و استوارت (MOS – SSS) و مقياس رضايت از زندگي داينر و همكاران(SWLS) استفاده شد. ضريب پايايي پرسشنامه پنج عاملي شخصيت با استفاده از ضريب آلفاي كرونباخ براي هر يك از پنج رگه روان رنجورخويي، برونگرايي، باز بودن به تجربه، توافق پذيري و باوجدان بودن به ترتيب 88/0، 80/0، 79/0، 76/0 و 83/0 و براي مقياسهاي حمايت اجتماعي و رضايت از زندگي به ترتيب 97/0 و 87/0 به دست آمد. براي تجزيه و تحليل داده ها از آزمون همبستگي پيرسون و تحليل رگرسيون گام به گام استفاده شد. نتايج نشان داد كه بين دو صفت روان رنجورخويي و با وجدان بودن با عملكرد تحصيلي ارتباط معنادار وجود دارد. همچنين، بين حمايت اجتماعي با عملكرد تحصيلي ارتباط معنادار وجود ندارد. در حالي كه بين رضايت از زندگي با عملكرد تحصيلي ارتباط معنادار وجود دارد. در مجموع يافته ها مويد آن است كه عملكرد تحصيلي با ويژگيها و صفات پايدار فردي دانشجويان و با رضايتمندي آنان از موقعيتهاي زندگي رابطه دارد. بنابراين، توجه به عوامل فردي و محيطي موثر در پيشرفت تحصيلي دانشجويان و شناسايي عوامل موثر در رضايتمندي آنان مي تواند حايز اهميت باشد.

Research and theoretical attempts of several experts have led to extend explanation and an alyzation of factors related to academic performance. Whereas, academic performance is considered as an important criterion for quality of high education system, it is particularly important to study its related factors. The aim of the present study was to investigate the relationship among personality characteristics, social support and life satisfaction with academic performance. This study was a descriptive- correlative survey. The population of this research included students of Faculty of Humanitiesʹ at University of Kashan and 250 subjects were selected by stratified sampling. Data were gathered using NEO - Five Factor Inventory (NEO-FFI) , Satisfaction With Life Scale (SWLS) and MOS-Social Support Scale (MOS - SSS).The reliability coefficient of NEO - Five Factor Inventory for five factors(neuroticism, extraversion, openness to experience, agreeableness and conscientiousness) are estimated 0.88, 0.80, 0.79, 0.76, 0.83 respectively and the reliability coefficient of Satisfaction With Life Scale and MOS-Social Support Scale are estimated 0.97, 0.87 respectively. Data were analyzed by Pearson correlation test and step wide regression. Results indicated a significant relationship between neuroticism and conscientiousness with academic performance. Also, the results indicated a non significant relationship between social support and academic performance.Whereas, the results revealed a significant relationship between life satisfaction and academic performance. In general, findings demonstrate that academic performance has related to stable personal characteristics and traits of students and their satisfaction with life situations. Hence, it is important to notice individual and environmental factors influencing academic achievement of students and recognizing factors influencing their satisfaction.
