Tradition and Freedom In Gadamer Philosophical Hermeneutics

گادامر با طرح هرمنوتيك فلسفي خود تلاش مي‌كند تا نشان دهد فهم انسان همواره ريشه در سنت و پيش داوري ها دارد. سنت كه پيوند وثيقي با تاريخمندي انسان دارد، فهم و معرفت را مشروط مي كند. از اين رو، مرجعيت سنت مانع از آن مي شود كه فهم به نحوي مطلق و عيني، يعني فارغ از ذهنيت ها و پيش‌داوري هاي فاعل فهم كننده تحقق يابد. اما پرسش اساسي اين است كه آيا گادامر در فرايند فهم، به موازات پذيرش مرجعيت سنت، جايي را نيز براي آزادي باز مي‌كند؟ آيا آزادي ما اين امكان را به ما مي‌دهد كه از مرجعيت سنت و پيش‌داوري‌هايمان در فهم رها شويم؛ يا اينكه فهم فرايندي است تحميل كننده كه همواره ما را در حصارهاي محدود كننده سنت نگاه مي‌دارد؟ مقاله پيش رو كوششي است براي پاسخ به اين پرسش از منظر گادامر.

By coming up with his own philosophical hermeneutics, Gadamer seeks to show that for human being, understanding is always rooted in tradition and prejudice. Enjoying a solid bond with the historicity of mankind, tradition makes understanding and knowledge conditional. Therfore, the authority of tradition prevents understanding from being realized in an absolute,objective way free of subjectivities and prejudices of the understanding subject. However, the question is if Gadamer devotes and room to freedom in the process of understanding as he accepts tradition. Does freedom provides us with an opportunity to free ourselves from the authority of tradition and our prejudices in understanding? Or the understanding an imposing process which always keeps us within the limits of tradition? This paper represents an effort to answer this question from Gadamer’s viewpiont.
