The Interaction between the Myth and Metaphor in Short Stories by Shahriar Mandanipour

درآميختن اسطوره و داستان در روايت مدرنيستي و پسامدرنيستي از جمله شگردهايي است كه خود سبب مي‌شود روايت به قطب استعاري ميل كند و با عبور از مجراي استعاره به سمت تودرتويي و لايگاني پيش رود و مخاطب ناگزير شود ژرف‌ساخت اسطوره‌اي داستان را كه در لايه‌هاي زيرين متن نهفته است، دريابد و پاره‌هاي روايت را بر اساس آن كنار هم قرار دهد تا به فهم داستان نزديك شود. در اين نوشتار، با استفاده از نظريّه ياكوبسن در خصوص قطب‌هاي استعاري و مجازي زبان، به تحليل و تبيين ژرف‌ساخت اسطوره‌اي چند داستان كوتاه شهريار مندني‌پور پرداخته شده است و نشان داده شده كه در اين داستان‌ها گاه يك شخصيّت اسطوره‌اي جايگزين يك شخصيّت داستاني مي‌شود و گاه زمان اسطوره‌اي در جايگاه زمان داستاني قرار مي‌گيرد؛ يعني گذشته ذهني شخصيّتي در داستان، در زماني كيفي اتّفاق مي‌افتد و زمان بين گذشته و حال و آينده در آمد و شد است و نويسنده اين زمان‌ها را جايگزين هم مي‌كند. در مواردي نيز يك داستان جايگزين يك داستان اسطوره‌اي، البتّه در كلّيّت آن مي‌شود و در برخي موارد، يك روايت اسطوره‌اي جايگزين كلّيّت روايي داستان مي‌شود. در متن مقاله، داستان‌هاي مندني‌پور در پنج سطحِ توصيف و خلق شخصيّت، پرداخت زمان، توصيف مكان، پيرنگ داستاني و روايت در سطح كلان، بر اساس ويژگي‌هاي ساختاري روايت اسطوره‌اي تحليل شده است و آشكار گشته كه بيشترين جايگزيني در سطح زمان روي داده است.

Combining myth and story in modernist and post-modernist narration is among the techniques that make the narration to incline towards metaphors and being multi-layer. This way, in order to understand the story better, the reader is left with no choice but to find the mythical deep structure of the story hidden in the underlying layers of the text and put together the narration parts based on the said structure. In this paper, using Jacobson’s theory about the metaphor and metonymy as the poles of the language, the mythical deep structure of several short stories by Shahriar Mandanipour are analyzed and explained. It is shown that in these stories, a mythical character is sometimes the substitute for a fictional one, and sometimes the mythical time replaces the fictional one. This means that the past in a character’s mind in the story takes place in a qualitative time, and the time passes between the past, the present and the future, while the author replaces the times constantly. In some cases, one story replaces a mythical fiction in general, and in some other cases, a mythical narration substitutes the story’s general narration. In the present study, Mandanipour’s stories are analyzed at five levels of description and creation of character, dealing with time, description of the setting, the plot and the narration at macrolevel based on the structural features of a mythical narration. It is revealed that most of the replacements have taken place at the level of language.
