The Effect of the Literary Choice on Style: With an Emphasis on the Viewpoint of Paul Simpson

سبك یك متن چگونگی استفادة نویسنده یا شاعر از زبان و حاصل انتخاب‌های وی از میان گنجینة زبانی فرهنگ خود است. در این انتخاب ذهن و روان هنرمند تأثیر دارد و هنرمند است كه تصمیم می‌گیرد یك مضمون را به چه شیوه‌ای بیان كند. بنابراین، سبك نویسنده یا شاعر بازتاب نگاه خاص او به جهان درون و بیرون است كه در بیان وی متجلی می‌شود. اگر هنرمند نگاه تازه‌ای داشته باشد، برای انتقال مفاهیم ذهنی خود از زبان تازه‌ای استفاده می‌كند و ناگزیر دست به گزینش‌های خاص در زبان می‌زند. وی در این گزینش سلیقه‌های شخصی خود را در زبان اعمال می‌‌كند و گاه از هنجارهای متعارف زبان خارج می‌شود. به این ترتیب سبك محصول گزینش خاص هنرمند از واژه‌هاست. در این مقاله تأثیر گزینش زبانی در شكل‌گیری سبك یك هنرمند از دیدگاه پاول سیمپسون (P. Simpson)، سبك‌شناس معاصر، بررسی می‌شود.

Style of a text is the way a writer or a poet uses the language and the result of what he chooses from the language treasury of his culture. The mind of an artist affects this choice and it is the artist who chooses how to express a theme. Therefore, the style used by a writer or a poet is a reflection of his special view to the inside and outside world. In fact, this view is manifested in his words. If an artist has a new view of the world, then he uses a new language to convey his mental concepts and inevitably has specific language choices. In his choices, the artist applies his personal preferences to language, and sometimes gets out of the conventional norms of the language. So, style is a product of the artistʹs specific word choices. The present paper aims to study the effect of language choices on the style of the artist from the viewpoint of Paul Simpson.
