Essentialist approach to religion

ذات‌انگاري دين، در صدد است تا با انواع رويكردهايي كه از موضع ناظر بيروني و نگاه تحويلي، به درك ناقص و ناتمامي از دين رسيده و دين‌پژوهي را در مسير ناصوابي قرار داده است به محاجه بپردازد. اين تلاش اولاً با واكاوي دقيق مفهومي، و نشان‌دادن تمايز ميان «ذات» با «ماهيت» و «حقيقت» و ثانياً با وارسي مبنا و مدعاي مخالفين ذات‌انگاري دين در سه دسته «ملحدان»، «روشن‌فكران ديني» و «جامعه‌شناسان» و آشكارساختن سهو و خطاي آنان و بالاخره با بيان دلايلي ناظر به اقتضايات «معرفت»، «دين» و «فهم دين» به انجام رسيده است. مبنا و منطق ما در اين احتجاجات، براهين عقلي است و ارجاعات لازم به آرا و مكتوبات مدعيان.

Essentialist approach to religion is an attempt to challenge different approaches to religion that – as external observers and along with reductionist view – have attained an incomplete understanding of religion and given an incorrect direction to religious studies. This endeavor is accomplished through the following steps: first, precise study of the concept to show the distinction between essence and quiddity and truth; secondly, through studying the base and foundation of opponents of essentialist approach to religion, which include the infidels, religious intellectuals and sociologists, in order to demonstrate their mistake and error; and finally by forwarding some reasons regarding requirements of “knowledge”,” religion” and ”understanding of religion”. The logic and base of this paper’s argumentations is based on rational reasons and necessary reference to ideas and written works of the contenders.
