ويژگي‌هاي يك استاد توانمند از ديدگاه دانشجويان رشته مديريت خدمات بهداشتي و درماني دانشگاه‌هاي علوم پزشكي كشور

Characteristics of a Capable University Lecturer from the Viewpoints of Health Services Management Students in Iranian Medical Universities

زمينه و هدف: شناخت ويژگي‌ها و معيارهايي كه دانشجويان از آن‌ها براي انتخاب مدرسين خود استفاده مي‌كنند، مي‌تواند به عنوان شاخص مهمي در ارزيابي مدرسين در نظر گرفته شود تا بتوان كيفيت آموزش و اثربخشي آن را ارتقا بخشيد. هدف از انجام اين پژوهش، تعيين ويژگي‌هاي يك استاد توانمند از ديدگاه دانشجويان رشته مديريت خدمات بهداشتي و درماني دانشگاه‌هاي علوم پزشكي كشور بود. روش كار: در مطالعه توصيفي- تحليلي- مقطعي حاضر، 582 دانشجوي كارشناسي رشته مديريت خدمات بهداشتي و درماني كل كشور مورد بررسي قرار گرفتند. ابزار جمع‌آوري داده‌ها، پرسش‌نامه پژوهشگر ساخته بود كه روايي محتوايي و پايايي آن مورد تاييد قرار گرفت. پرسش‌نامه در 6 حيطه روش تدريس، شخصيت فردي، مهارت ارزشيابي، ارتباط بين فردي، دانش‌پژوهي و قوانين آموزشي طراحي گرديد. داده‌ها به وسيله آزمون‌هاي آماري Independent t و ANOVA و در نرم افزار آماري SPSS نسخه 16 مورد تجزيه و تحليل قرار گرفت. يافته‌ها: از ديدگاه دانشجويان، حيطه‌هاي روش تدريس (34/4)، ارتباط بين فردي (17/4) و شخصيت فردي (11/4) با اهميت‌ترين حيطه‌ها و ويژگي‌هايي مانند انجام حضور و غياب (62/3)، برگزاري امتحان ميان ترم (66/3) و سخت‌گيري استاد (71/3) از كم اهميت‌ترين حيطه‌ها بودند. تنها بين جنسيت و حيطه قوانين آموزشي ارتباط معني‌داري مشاهده گرديد (01/0 = P). بين ميانگين نمرات حيطه‌ها بر حسب ترم تحصيلي تفاوت معني‌داري وجود نداشت (05/0 < P). در مجموع همبستگي و رابطه بين حيطه‌هاي مورد بررسي، دو دسته مجزا در قالب ويژگي‌هاي فردي مدرس و تعهدات حرفه‌اي را مشخص ساخت. نتيجه‌گيري: خصوصيات و ويژگي‌هاي مطلوب اعضاي هيات علمي به خصوص ويژگي‌هاي فردي و شخصيتي آن‌ها از مهم‌ترين عوامل تعيين كننده در دستيابي به اهداف آموزشي و افزايش كيفيت آموزش هستند.

Background & Objective: Understanding the characteristics and criteria that students use to select their teachers, is an indicator for evaluating teachers in order to improve the quality and effectiveness of education. Hence, the aim of this study is to investigate the characteristics of a capable university lecturer from the viewpoints of health services management students in Iranian medical universities. Methods: In this descriptive, analytical, cross-sectional study, 582 bachelorʹs degree students of health services management participated. Data were collected using a self-developed questionnaire, the content validity and reliability of which were confirmed. The questionnaire included six main domains, namely, teaching method, personal characteristics, evaluation skills, scholarly activities, interpersonal skills, and educational regulations. Data were analyzed using Student’s independent t-test and ANOVA in SPSS software. Results: Our findings suggest that teaching methods (4.34), interpersonal skills (4.17), and personal characteristics (4.11) were the most important domains from the studentsʹ perspectives. On the other hand, characteristic such as calling the roll (3.62), taking mid-term quizzes (3.66), and teacherʹs strictness (3.71) were the least important domains. There was a significant relationship between sex and the educational regulations domain (P = 0.01). However; there was no significant relationship between mean score of domains based on studentsʹ term of education (P > 0.05). In total, the correlation between all domains revealed 2 distinct categories in the form of personal characteristics and professional commitments. Conclusion: According to our results, favorable characteristics of academics, especially their individual characteristics and personality, are one of the determining factors in achieving educational goals and increasing the quality of education.
