ترسّل در عصر تيموري

Epistolary in the Timurid Era

یكی از ادوار مهم و، در عین حال، كم‌تر شناخته‌شدة تاریخ ادبیات فارسی در زمینة ترسّل و دبیریْ عصر تیموری است. در این مقطع تاریخی منشیان بزرگ و نامداری چون عبدالواسع نظامی هروی، یوسف اهل، محمدعلی بن جمال‌الاسلام، معین‌الدین اسفزاری، ملّاحسین واعظ كاشفی، شهاب‌الدین عبدالله مروارید (بیانی كرمانی)، خواجه جهان، جامی، و خواندمیر ظهور كردند و آثار ارزشمند و مهمّی در انشا و نامه‌نگاری برجای نهادند؛ آثاری كه برخی از آن‌ها، مانند ریاض‌الانشاء قاوان و منشآت جامی، صرفاً مجموعه‌منشآت دیوانی یا اخوانی كاتبان‌اند و گروهی نیز، مانند ترسّل اسفزاری و مخزن‌الانشاء كاشفی، به بیان مبانی نظری دبیری و كتابت همراه با نمونة نامه‌ها پرداخته‌اند. در این مقاله، علاوه بر آشنایی با جریان كلّی كتابت و دبیری در عصر تیموری و بیان موازین نظری و عملی ترسّل و انشا در این عصر، به معرّفی محتوایی، سبكی، و ساختاری آثار ممتاز ترسّل و انشا نیز پرداخته شده است تا نمایی كلّی از كتابت این دوره و میزان تقلید یا نوآوری منشیان به‌دست داده شود.

One of the important but less known eras in the history of Persian literature in the area of scribing and letter-writing was the Timurid era. At this historical period, such great and famous scribes as Abdulwaset Nezami Heravi, Yusef Ahl, Ali bin Jamal al-Islam, Moein ad-Din Esfazari, Molla Hussein Vaez Kashefi, Shahabeddin Abdullah Morvarid (Bayani Kermani), Khajeh Jahan, Jami, Khandmir, etc. appeared and created valuable and significant works in letter-writing and scribing. Some of these works such as Riaz al-Inshaʹ by Qavan and Epistolary of Jami are merely Diwani (administrative) or Ikhwani (freindly) correspondence of the scribes, and a group including Esfazariepistolary and Kashefi Makhzan al-Inshaʹ have discussed the theoretical rudiments of scribing and book writing along with sample letters. In addition to an introduction to the general currents of book writing and scribing in the Timurid era and a description of theoretical and applied principles of epistolary and letter-writing in this era, the present article introduces the content, style and structure of prominent works of epistolary and letter-writing. It is hoped that a general scheme of scribing in this era and the level of imitation or innovation by the scribes will be displayed.
