Zagzebski’s Theory of Divine Motivation about the Relation of Religion and Morality

ظريه انگيزش الهي نظريه‏اي است اخلاقي با بنياد الهياتي كه در تلاش است، با خوانشي نو–ارسطويي و انگيزش–محور، نسبت بين دين و اخلاق را در چارچوب الهيات مسيحي تبيين كند. اين نظريه كه ليندا زاگزبسكي آن را مطرح كرده است، گونه‏اي نو از اخلاق فضيلت‏مدار را عرضه مي‏كند كه در آن انگيزه‏هاي الهي، به خصوص انگيزه عشق، بنيادِ حيات و زيستِ اخلاقي‏اند و اين انگيزه‏ها هم به لحاظ وجودشناختي و هم به لحاظ تبيين‏شناختي پايه تمام اوصاف و ارزش‏هاي اخلاقي در نظر گرفته مي‏شوند. اين نظريه براي پيش‏برد مقصد خود از پنج گام بهره مي‏برد. در گام اول تشخص خدا را اثبات مي‏كند. در گام دوم نشان مي‏دهد كه خداوند از عالي‏ترين فضايل و انگيزه‏ها بهره‏مند است. در گام سوم انگيزه خداوند در فعل خلقت را انگيزه عشق معرفي مي‏كند و آن را پايه‏اي‏ترين انگيزه الهي به شمار مي‏آورد. در گام چهارم آموزه تشبه به خدا را پي‏گيري مي‏كند و بر نقايص جدي اين آموزه تاكيد مي‏كند. در گام آخر تلاش مي‏كند تا اين آموزه را با آموزه تجسد مسيح عجين كند و از نقايص آن بكاهد.

Divine Motivation theory is an ethical theory with a theological foundation, attempting to explain the relation between religion and morality in the context of Christian theology with emphasizing on neo-Aristotelian and motivation-based ethics. This theory that is presented by Linda Zagzebski, provides a new form of virtue ethics that Godʹs motives, especially that of love, are foundations of moral life and these motivational states are considered ontologically and explanatorily the basis for all moral properties and values. This theory uses five steps to advance its destination. In the first step, this theory proves the personhood of God. In the second step, it argues that God has perfect virtues and motives. In the third step, it shows that Godʹs motive in the Creation is motive of love that is the central and fundamental divine motive. In the fourth step, it discusses the doctrine of imitatio Dei and focuses on the problems of this doctrine. In the last step, it attempts to link this doctrine to the doctrine of the incarnation to resolve its problems.
