Typology Challenges and the Status of Machine Translation from Arabic to Persian

واگذاري امور انساني به ماشين را شايد بتوان يكي از ويژگي‌هاي متمايز عصر جديد دانست؛ دوره‌اي كه انسان بيش از پيش با ابداع‌ها و اختراع‌هاي گسترده، هرچه بيشتر به دنبال رفع دشواري‌هاي پيش روي زندگي، نيازهاي بشر و واگذاري آن به دستگاه‌هايي است كه ميزان بهره‌وري آنها به مراتب بالاتر و دقيق‌تر از انسان است. امّا بلندپروازي بشر به حدّي است كه در پي محوّل كردن برخي ويژگي‌هاي خاصّ بشري از جمله تفكّر، دريافت، تحليل و... به ماشين است. از جمله نيازهاي روزافزون بشر در عصر ارتباط و سرعت، نياز به ترجمه از زبان‌هاي متعدّد در حدّاقل زمان ممكن است. لذا واگذاري ترجمه به ماشين نيز در عصر جديد، از تلاش‌هاي خاصّ برخي حوزه‌هاي علمي، مثل هوش مصنوعي، زبانشناسي رايانه‌اي و... بوده است. تجربه‌هاي پُرنوسان اين ايده، حتّي در زبان‌هاي مشابه موفّقيّت آن را با چالش مواجه كرده است. اين مقاله سعي دارد در كنار اشاره به جايگاه و ميزان رواج اين نوع ترجمه بين دو زبان با نگاهي تحليلي، گونه‌هاي متعدّد چالش ترجمه ماشيني از عربي به فارسي را ارايه و تحليل نمايد و نشان مي‌دهد كه ترجمه ماشيني با نگرش مطلق به آن، چالش‌هاي ويژه‌اي در زبان عربي دارد كه بسياري از زبان‌هاي ديگر فاقد آنها هستند؛ از جمله ابهام نوشتاري، ابهام واژگاني و مسيله اِعراب. لذا ترجمه ماشيني از زباني چون عربي به زباني همچون فارسي، شايد از دشوارترين مراحل در تكامل يك ماشين ترجمه جهاني باشد.

Perhaps devoting of human affairs to machines is a distinctive feature of the new era; an era in which human beings with their extensive inventions, is seeking to resolve of the advanced difficulties facing life, human needs and devoting of it to machines that their productivity is higher and more accurate than humans. In spite of this, the man’s grandiloquence is to the extent that seeks to devolve some special features of human to machine such as thinking, perception, analysis and ... . Need to translatation from different languages in the shortest time possible is one of mankindʹs growing needs in the age of communication and speed. Therefore, the devoting of translation to the machine in the modern era is one of special efforts of some scientific fields such as artificial intelligence and computational linguistics and… . The variable experiences of this idea have challenged its success even in similar languages. This article attempts to offer and analyze different types of challenges in machine translation from Arabic to Farsi with the analytical approach and reference to the position and quantity of prevalence of this type of translation between the two mentioned languages and it shows that there are special challenges in the Arabic language about machine translation with absolute attitude to it and many other languages do not have those challenges; including of ambiguity in the text or vocabularies and the syntax issue. Thus, perhaps the machine translation of a language such as Arabic into Persian is one of the toughest stages in the evolution of a universal translation machine.
