امروزه تبيين معيارهاي پايداري فضاهاي زيستي با رويكرد پايداري اجتماعي از مهمترين موضوعات در حوزه برنامه ريزي معماري و شهر است كه بايد در فرآيند طراحي معماري موردنظر قرار گيرد. از سويي ديگر، هدف از فرهنگسراها، ايجاد محيطي آزاد، صميمي و داراي فضايي باز است كه از طريق يك سيستم غيرمتمركز اداره مي‌شود. به بيان عاميانه مي‌توان فرهنگسراها را پاتوق‌هايي فرهنگي با تعاملات اجتماعي دانست كه به‌عنوان يك مركز فرهنگي، بخشي از فعاليت‌هاي فراغتي را پوشش مي دهد كه به ضرورت طراحي معمارانه اين فضاها براي پويايي اجتماعي اشاره دارد. بر اين اساس، مقاله حاضر با بهره گيري از «روش توصيفي- تحليلي» در مرحله نظري و «روش پيمايشي» در مرحله تحليلي و با ابزار گردآوري داده مشتمل بر مطالعات كتابخانه اي و اسنادي به بررسي مفهوم پايداري اجتماعي در معماري و طراحي فضاهاي فرهنگي پرداخته است و براي تحليل داده‌هاي حاصل از پژوهش و تبديل آن به احكام معماري و سپس طراحي، از روش چيدمان فضا استفاده شده است. در ادامه اين داده‌ها به صورت نمودارهاي هم‌ترازي و سپس به صورت نقشه‌هاي گاما آورده شده است و در مرحله‌ي نهايي با استفاده از اين تحليل‌ها و مطالعات صورت گرفته بر روي سايت و با توجه به استانداردها و برنامه‌ي فيزيكي، طراحي معماري فرهنگسرا صورت گرفته است. در پايان نيز به معيارهاي طراحي فضاهاي زيستي با درنظرگيري پايداري اجتماعي و پويايي فضايي اشاره شده و راهكارهايي در راستاي بهبود وضعيت ساختاري و فرهنگي فرهنگسراهاي شهر تهران براي پويايي اجتماعي و امكان دهي حضور در عرصه هاي جمعي مورد اشاره قرار گرفته است.
