تاريخِ سبك شناسي در تاريخ نگاري هنر مغرب‌زمين

History of Stylistic Studies in the Historiography of Art in the West

سبك را به طور عام مي‌توان الگوها يا صفات بارز چيز يا مجموعه‌اي از اشيا دانست. مزيت سبك بر ديگر روش‌هاي طبقه‌بندي تاريخ هنر در اين است كه به وسيله آن مي‌توان با حداقل مدارك‌ بيشترين آگاهي را از وضع هنر در دوره‌اي خاص كسب كرد. اگرچه كاربرد واژه سبك در تاريخ ادبيات مغرب زمين به دوران باستان مي‌رسد كاربرد آن در مطالعه تاريخ هنر از قرن هجدهم رايج شد. اول بار وينكلمان از سبك براي شناخت هنر و تمدن يونان باستان استفاده كرد. پس از او هريك از مورخان و متفكران به وجهي از سبك توجه كردند؛ تجربه‌گرايان تنها بر مطالعه صوري آثار متمركز شدند؛ هگل‌گرايان كوشيدند ميان سبك آثار هنري و روح زمانه رابطه‌اي بيابند و متفكران متاخر سبك را هرچه بيشتر وابسته و معلول سازوكار توليد اثر و طرز عمل هنرمند دانستند. به طور كلي مروري بر سير تحول مفهوم سبك و روش‌هاي سبك‌شناسي در مطالعات تاريخ هنر مغرب‌زمين نشان مي‌دهد از قرن هجدهم تا كنون اهميت اثر هنري، و انديشه و خواست هنرمند در سبك‌شناسي در نظر مورخان افزايش يافته است. اين مقاله در پي بررسي مفهوم سبك و اصول سبك شناسي در تاريخ هنر مغرب زمين است.

“Style” can be generally considered as patterns or recognizable characteristics of an object or set of objects. The advantage of style in comparison to the other classification methods is that the most knowledge can be acquired by the least historical records. “Style” has been applied in the history of literature from ancient era, but it has been used in the history of arts from eighteen century. For the first time, “style” was applied to interpret classical arts by Winckelmann. Later, other historians paid attention to the other aspects of style: empiricists have only emphasized on visual studies; Hegelians have attempted to establish a relation between style and zeigeist; recent Historians have emphasized on the artists and mechanism of producing of works of art. Generally, evolution of concept and theory of style in the west shows that the importance of works of arts and the artistʹs willingness have been increased to historians of art. In this article we try to explain the concept of style and stylistic principles in the west.
