Syntactic Account of Persian Apposition and Nonrestrictive Relative Clause

تفاوت رفتار نحوي‌اي كه بندهاي موصولي و بدل فارسي براساس خوانش معناييِ خود در هر جمله نشان مي‌دهند، توجيه نحوي دارد. به بياني ديگر، اين تفاوت ناشي از محل استقرار فرافكنِ متمم‌نما و گروه حرف تعريف در ميان ساير فرافكن‌هاي نقشي جمله است. در اين پژوهش بند موصولي، به صورت افزوده، و بدل‌ها، به صورت افزودگي يا همپايگي، ترسيم مي‌شوند. در حالي كه با ترسيم افزودگي به‌جاي افزوده، نمودارهاي بند موصولي و بدل يكي مي‌شوند. بنابراين اگر به پيروي از زبان‌شناساني همچون هگمن، كه افزوده را به صورت افزودگي در نظر مي‌گيرند، اين حد افراط را قبول كنيم، تمايز آن ساخت‌ها مشخص نمي‌شود. بدل‌ها خود نوعي ساخت موازي در نظريه عمومي زبان تلقي مي‌شوند. ملاك تشخيص اين ساخت‌ها، ملاك‌هاي ساختاري و معناشناختي است. نمودار درختي و ويژگي معنايي آنها حاكي از تمايز اين ساخت‌ها با ساخت‌هاي موصولي و متممي است. در اين پژوهش سعي مي‌شود پس از ارايه توصيفي جامع از ساخت‌هاي موازي، به‌خصوص بدل در زبان فارسي، كاراييِ رويكرد نحوي در اين زمينه بررسي شود و تحليلي جامع از اين ساخت‌ها همراه با توصيف مقولات مورد نظر، برمبناي ويژگي‌هاي دستوري، به دست داده شود.

Persian relative clauses are the complex DP containing head and CP.These two make a syntactic constituent and have DP distribution. Following the SOV word order, the base generated position of them is an argument position before verb which can be changed by movement operations. DP embedded CP is introduced by the invariable complementizer (ke) and the embedded verbs are inflected for tense, aspect and mood just as a main verb. Nonrestrictive relative clause is a subordinate clause which does not restrict the meaning of the head it modifies but stands in apposition to it. Nonrestrictive relative clauses are syntactically the same as restrictive relative clauses, i.e. they go through various grammatical operations in the same way. However, nonrestrictive relative clauses are similar to the parentheticals (particularly apposition) in the prosodic and semantic aspects. They have distinctive prosodic contour, that is,discontinuity and parentheticals’ semantic contribution to the matrix clause is an additional or supplementive one. one.In this article an attempt is made to show these differences by structural representation: the apposition as a cooperated construction and nonrestrictive relative clause as right –adjoined to the head noun.
