Hyrkaniyeh Geographical and Political Positionin the Achaemenid Period

چكيده جغرافيا نقش مهمي در تاريخ هر سرزمين دارد و تاريخ هر سرزمين و ناحيه، بستگي زيادي به موقعيت و مكان جغرافيايي آن دارد. از اين رو، مي‌توان ادعا كرد كه هر يك از بخش‌هاي مختلف ايران، به دليل قرار گرفتن در يك موقعيت جغرافيايي متفاوت و داشتن شرايط آب هواي خاص، جايگاه ويژه و اهميت زيادي دارند. و هر يك از اين نواحي توانسته‌اند، به سهم خود، نقش مهمي در تحولات سياسي كشور داشته ‌باشند. سرزمين گرگان امروز، به دليل موقعيت جغرافيايي خاص، در طول تاريخ ايران، خصوصاً تاريخ ايران باستان، اهميت و نقش مهمي در تاريخ و تحولات ايران داشته و در منابع به‌كرّات از آن نام ‌برده شده‌است. تا كنون پيرامون حصار دفاعي گرگان در زمان ساسانيان در اين منطقه بحث‌هاي زيادي شده است، اما در رابطه با جايگاه سياسي هيركانيه و نقش جغرافيا در تحولات تاريخي اين سرزمين در زمان هخامنشيان كار مستقلي انجام نشده‌است؛ لذا در اين پژوهش مي‌كوشيم كه با استفاده از شيوه پژوهش‌هاي تاريخي و با استفاده از متون كهن تاريخي و شواهد باستان‌شناسي به بررسي موقعيت جغرافيايي هيركانيه و تاثيرات آن در اهميت و جايگاه سياسي اين سرزمين در دوره هخامنشيان بپردازيم.

Abstract Geography plays an important role in the history of each land and history of each country and region depends heavily on its position and location. In this regard it can be argued that each of the different parts of Iran due to being in a different geographical location and the specific climatic conditions of the place have great importance and each of these areas has its important share in the political transformation of the country. Present land of Gorgan in Iran,due to its special geographic position in the ancient Iranian history, has been of crucial importance and played an important role in the history and development of Iran and it has been named many times in the sources.However,so far the defensive wall in the region in Sassanid Iran has been much debate, but in terms of political status and role of geography in historical developments of during Achaemenid era no independent work has been done. Hence in this study it has been attempted is to use the methods of historical research and the ancient historical literature and archaeological evidence geographical location of Hyrkaniyeh and its impact on the political importance of this land to be set in the Achaemenid period.
