نظريه رشد ايماني فاولر به عنوان چارچوبي براي تربيت ديني

Fowler’s Faith Development Theory as a Frame for Religious Education

روان‌شناسان مدل­هاي خوبي را براي درك رشد شناختي، رفتاري و روان­شناختي مطرح كرده‌اند، اما دكتر جيمز فاولر متخصص الهيات، بر اين باور بود كه مدلي ويژه براي رشد ايماني تدوين نشده است. وي نظريه رشد ايماني خود را براساس نظريه­هاي رشدي پياژه، اريكسون و كلبرگ و مباحثه­هاي ديني در زمينه ايمان كه تيليش[1]، ني­بوهر[2] و اسميت[3] بيان كرده بودند، بنا نهاد و آن را مراحل رشد ايماني[4] ناميد. نظريه فاولر از طريق گوش‌دادن به زندگي سيصدوپنجاه‌وهفت مصاحبه‌شونده بين سال­هاي 1972 تا 1981 پديد آمده است. فاولر پس از مصاحبه‌هاي متعدد با آزمودني­ها، به اين نتيجه رسيد كه رشد ايمان كه همان رشد ايجاد معنا است، پديده­اي جهاني و انساني بوده و تا حدي ذاتي و غريزي است. او همچنين نشان داد كه رشد ايماني، مسيري رشدي، فكري، شناختي و پيش­بيني‌پذير را دنبال مي­كند. با اينكه دامنه گسترده‌اي از محققان خارجي به اين نظريه توجه نشان داده‌اند، پيچيدگي­هاي آن سبب شده چالش­هاي نظري، اخلاقي و عملي زيادي به‌همراه داشته باشد. با توجه به اينكه در ايران اين نظريه بسيار مهجور مانده است، در اين مقاله كوشش شده درك بهتري از آن فراهم آيد. ازاين‌رو ابتدا تعريف ايمان، و سپس مراحل رشد ايماني از نگاه فاولر به‌تفصيل بررسي شده و درنهايت انتقادهاي وارد بر اين نظريه بيان مي‌شود. به‌نظر مي‌رسد اين نظريه كه شامل يك پيش‌مرحله و شش مرحله است، به‌عنوان ساختاري براي تدوين نظريه رشد ديني- ايماني مطابق با آموزه­هاي اسلامي- شيعي راهگشا باشد.

Psychologists have stated helpful models for understanding cognitive, behavioral and psychological development, but Dr. James W. Fowler a theologian noted that there arenʹt any specific models dealing with faith development. He built his theory on the foundations laid by the developmental theories Piaget, Erikson, and Kohlberg plus the theological discussions of faith by Tillich, Niebuhr, and Smith and called his theory as faith development spaces. Fowler’s model emerged as he listened to the life stories of 357 individuals interviewed between 1972 to 1981. After several interviewing, fowler concluded that faith development, that is, growth in meaning making, is a universal, human phenomenon. It is somehow innate and Instinctive. Fowler demonstrated that faith development follows a predictable, cognitive, conceptual and development trajectory. Although this theory has been considered by many international researchers, but the complexity of this theory has led to a lot of theoretical, ethical and practical challenges. Because this theory remains very obsolete in Iran, this review article attempts to provide a better understanding of this theory. So At first the definition of faith according to fowler is presented, then the stages of faith development is studied in detail and ultimately the criticisms of this theory has been proposed. It seems that the theory Which includes one pre Phase and six Phase, be helpful As a framework for Codification religious- faith Development theory In accordance to Islamic teachings.
