بررسي تاثير يك مداخله آموزشي بر دانش و آمادگي ارايه مراقبت‌هاي مرتبط با سلامت دهان و دندان مادران باردار در دانشجويان مامايي

Effect of an educational intervention about midwifery students\ʹ knowledge and preparedness on oral health care in pregnant mothers

  زمينه و هدف: ماماها در انتقال اطلاعات مرتبط با سلامت دهان می‌توانند نقش مهمی داشته باشند چراكه مادران باردار بيشتر با اين گروه در ارتباط هستند. هدف ما بررسی تأثير يك مداخله آموزشی بر دانش و آمادگی ارايه مراقبت‌های سلامت دهان مادران باردار در دانشجويان مامايی بود.   روش بررسی: در اين كارآزمايی تصادفی گروه مداخله شامل دانشجويان سال سوم مامايی پرديس مركزی (29 نفر) و گروه مقايسه (33 نفر در پرديس همت) پرسشنامه‌ای شامل 8 سؤال دموگرافيك، 18 سؤال مرتبط با دانش و 1 سؤال مربوط به آمادگی را تكميل كردند. سپس مداخله آموزشی با بهره‌گيری از روش‌های سخنرانی، آموزش نحوه مسواك زدن و ايفای نقش انجام شد و به فاصله 3 ماه پرسشنامه‌ها مجدداً تكميل شد. آناليزآماری توسط Mann-Whitney Test ، T-test ، Chi-Square test ، ANOVA و Regression با نرم‌افزار SPSS انجام گرفت.   يافته‌ها: ميانگين نمره دانش در گروه مداخله و مقايسه در پيش‌آزمون 7/26 و 8/24 بود كه در پس‌آزمون به 5/48 و 1/29 تغيير يافت (001/0> P ). در قسمت آمادگی در به كارگيری اطلاعات ارتقاء سلامت دهان در گروه مداخله و مقايسه به ترتيب 6/52% و 4/36% گزينه خيلی زياد را انتخاب كردند كه اين اعداد پس از مداخله به ترتيب 2/68% و 7/41% بودند.   نتيجه‌گيری: نتايج اميدبخش مداخله آموزشی حاضر كه به صورت تلفيقی از دو روش استاد محور و دانشجو محور انجام شده بود، نشان داد كه بهبود دانش و افزايش آمادگی دانشجويان امكان‌پذير است و بر لزوم گنجاندن واحد درسی مرتبط در آموزش مامايی دلالت دارد.

  Background and Aims : As midwives are in frequent contact with pregnant mothers, they may play a key role in their oral health care (OHC). In this study, we aimed to evaluate the effect of an educational program on Tehran University of Medical Sciences midwifery students’ knowledge and preparedness on OHC in pregnant mothers. Materials and Methods: The midwifery third year students of central campus (n=29) were randomly selected as intervention group and their counterparts in Hemmat campus (n=33) as control. Students in both groups were asked to fill in a questionnaire included 8 demographic question and 18 OHC knowledge and one question on their preparedness to implement OHC. Then the educational intervention was implemented using lecture, demonstration of the correct methods of brushing and flossing on the models and role play method. The follow- up questionnaire was delivered 3 months later. Data were analyzed using Mann-Whitney test, T-test, Chi-Square test, ANOVA and Regression by SPSS software.   Results: The mean OHC in pregnancy knowledge score in intervention and control group were 26.7 and 24.8 at baseline which were changed into 48.5 and 29.1, respectively (P<0.001). Among the students 52.6% in the intervention group and 36.4% in the control group reported very high preparedness to implement OHC in pregnancy. These figures were 68.2% and 41.7% in the post-test.   Conclusion: The promising findings of this educational intervention comprising of both student and teacher-centered methods speak for possibility of improving these students knowledge and preparedness and implies on the necessity to incorporate the related course in midwifery education.
