Studying Dual Meaning of Vicegerency in Islamic Mysticism

خلافت از مفاهيم اصلي عرفان اسلامي است. مفهوم استخلاف عبد از رب كه به برخي آيات و روايات نيز مستند است منجر به انسان شناسي عميقي در عرفان نظري شده و بيشتر مورد توجه عرفا بوده است. استخلاف عبد از رب به جهت ويژگي-هاي منحصر به فردي چون جامعيت اسما و صفات الهي، وساطت فيض، كون جامع بودن، تناظر با عالم كبير و دارا بودن بالاترين معرفت نسبت به حق تعالي، در وجود اين مختصر شريف است. اما نوع ديگري از استخلاف نيز در عرفان اسلامي وجود دارد كه براساس ارتباط عبد و رب استنباط مي‌شود و برخي از عرفا نيز اشاراتي به آن داشته اند. استخلاف رب از عبد رابطه دوسويه عبدي است كه به مقام جمع‌الجمعي رسيده و معارف عميق توحيد را درك كرده و به قله منيع فقر و عجز و عبوديت تامه رسيده است. اين دسته از اولياي الهي با وجود داشتن قدرت دخل و تصرف در تمام امور عالم عبوديت و فقر را برمي گزينند و از پروردگار خويش استخلاف در جميع امور خود را مسيلت مي كنند. مقاله حاضر به شرح و توضيح اين دو نوع استخلاف مي پردازد.

Vicegerency is one major concept in Islamic mysticism. The concept of vicegerency bestowed upon man by God that has been brought up in some verses, has led to an in-depth knowledge of man in theoretical mysticism, and it has been paid attention chiefly by the mystics. In view of such unique qualities as universal Divine names and attributes, intermediation of emanation, comprehensiveness of man, correspondence with the macrocosm, and possessing the highest degree of relative knowledge of God, the representation bestowed upon man by God is bestowed upon the nature of this noble creature. However, there is another type of vicegerency in Islamic mysticism that is deductible based on the relationship between man and God. Some mystics have had references to it. Succession of God from the servant is a dual relationship of a servant who has attained the rank of perfection and comprehensiveness, who understands deep knowledge of monotheism, and who has attained the high summit of perfect poverty, inability and servitude in the cause of God. This group of God’s saints, despite having the authority to interfere in all affairs of the universe, select poverty and servitude in the cause of God and seek representation of God in all their affairs. This paper explains these two types of vicegerencies.
