به‌طوركلي، آنچه در ادبيات علمي داخل و خارج كشور مغفول مانده است، نقش سازمان‌هاي ايمان‌محور در مديريت و توسعه پايدار محله‌هاي شهري است. اين سازمان‌ها كه به دو دسته قدسي و غيرقدسي تقسيم مي‌شوند، به دليل ظرفيت ايماني‌شان داراي اثربخشي مضاعف نسبت به ديگر سازمان‌ها هستند. از يك طرف اين سازمان‌ها همواره زمينه‌ساز و تقويت‌كننده هويت، خاطره‌هاي معنوي و حس تعلق به مكان، مشاركت و تقسيم كار در شهرها و محله‌هاي مختلف جهان‌اند و از طرف ديگر به دليل گستردگي ابعاد و تغيير ماهيت مسايل شهري و محله‌اي و پيچيدگي اين مسايل، جامع‌نگري و توجه به ابعاد و جنبه‌هاي مختلف مسيله به منظور حل پايدار آن‌ها (از جمله توجه و آگاهي به اثرات عملكردي اجتماعي-اقتصادي، آموزشي و زيست‌محيطي اين نوع سازمان‌هاي محلي) را اجتناب‌ناپذير ساخته است. از اين رو يكي از كارآمدترين ابزار‌هاي اجرايي سياست‌هاي دولتي، سازمان‌هاي غيرانتفاعي هستند و سازمان‌هاي ايمان‌محور بارزترين جلوه اين سازمان‌هايند كه به دليل انگيزه‌هاي دروني و ايماني‌شان به‌طور مضاعف ظرفيت اجراي خط مشي‌ها را دارند. در اين مقاله، سنخيت و نقش و عملكرد سازمان‌هاي ايمان‌محور با سازمان‌هاي محله‌محور در محلات منطقه يك شهر تهران در مديريت و توسعه پايدار محله‌هاي شهري بررسي مي‌شود. نقش سازمان‌هاي ايمان‌محور در مديريت و توسعه پايدار محله‌هاي منطقه يك شهر تهران بدين قرار است: از حيث مفهومي و عملكردي، سازمان‌هاي ايمان‌محور با سازمان‌هاي محله‌محور در محله‌هاي منتخب منطقه يك شهر تهران قابل انطباق و سنخيت با همديگر هستند و اين امر موجب تقويت مديريت و توسعه پايدار محله‌اي شده است. شناخت، آگاهي، تعليم و توجه در زمينه‌هاي خدمات اجتماعي - آموزشي، زيست‌محيطي به‌ويژه نيازهاي اساسي ساكنان از مهم‌ترين وجوه كاركردي سازمان‌هاي ايمان‌محور (البته با سازمان‌هاي محله‌محور) هستند كه باعث شكل‌گيري و تقويت مديريت و توسعه پايدار محله‌اي در محدوده مورد مطالعه (محلات منطقه 1 تهران)گرديده است. سازمان‌هاي كاميونيتي‌محور و سازمان‌هاي ايمان‌محور در كاهش مشكلات ناشي از فقر شهري موثرند. ناكافي بودن و نامشخص بودن سام‌ها، هم در ايران و هم در محدوده مورد مطالعه و در نتيجه عدم تشخيص دقيق اين سازمان‌‌ها از ديگر سازمان‌هاي كاميونيتي‌محور.
