Validity & Reliability of Persian Version of Texting While Driving (Texting While Driving) Questionnaire

ارسال و خوانش پيامك حين رانندگي از عوامل خطر مهم در رخداد سوانح ترافيكي است. به‌منظور تهيه ابزاري روا و پايا جهت بررسي عوامل رواني اجتماعي مرتبط با ارسال و خوانش پيامك حين رانندگي با استفاده از نظريه رفتار برنامه‌ريزي شده، روايي و پايايي نسخه فارسي پرسشنامه بررسي شد. مطالعه حاضر در سال 1393 روي دانشجويان 18سال و بالاتر در سه دانشگاه علوم پزشكي تهران، شهيد بهشتي و ايران انجام شد. تعداد 470 نفر نمونه (260 نفر مرد و 210 نفر زن) از طريق نمونه‌گيري خوشه‌اي چند مرحله‌اي از بين دانشجويان انتخاب گرديدند. در مرحله ارزيابي روايي محتوا، گويه14 پرسشنامه (مربوط به داشتن تلفن همراه) و سه زير مجموعه از گويه‌هاي 23، 24 و 25 پرسشنامه با توجه به مشابهت معنايي با گزينه‌هاي ديگراز پرسشنامه حذف شدند. همچنين سه گزينه جهت رفع ابهام به گويه‌هاي پرسشنامه اضافه گرديد. شاخص آلفاي كرونباخ براي بررسي همساني دروني در دو مقياس ارسال و خوانش پيامك به ترتيب 73/0 و 71/0 بود. ضريب همبستگي درون خوشه اي، براي مقياس ارسال و خوانش پيامك به ترتيب 83/0 و 79/0 ، و نشان دهنده‌ي سطح بالايي از پايايي آزمون- بازآزمون بود. نسخه فارسي پرسشنامه ارسال و خوانش پيامك در حين رانندگي با بهره‌گيري از نظريه رفتار برنامه‌ريزي شده ابزاري پايا و معتبر بوده و مي‌تواند در مطالعات مربوطه استفاده شود.

Objective (s): Texting while driving (TWD) is of the dangerous causes of accidents. As such, in order to determine an appropriate instrument to investigate the psychosocial factors related to the issue of (TWD), the reliability and validity of the Farsi-translated questionnaire was explored by utilizing the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) model among drivers. Methods: The present study was done among students of 18 years old and above at Tehran Medical Sciences University, Shahid Beheshti University, and The University of Iran in 2014. The study sample included 470 students, 260 males and 210 females, through a several-stage clustering strategy. Results: During the investigation of content validity of the questionnaire, question number 14_related to possessing a cell phone_ and three subcategories of questions number 23, 24, and 25 were omitted due to their similarity in meaning with the other questions. Also, three options were added to the questionnaire so as to guard against ambiguities. The index of Cronbachʹs alpha to investigate internal consistency in two scales of "sending" and "receiving" was 0.79 and 0.71, respectively. The intra class correlation in two scales of "sending" and "receiving" was 0.83 and 0.79, respectively, showing a high degree of test-retest reliability. Conclusion: The Persian translated questionnaire of Texting While Driving (TWD) by using the TPB model is a valid and reliable instrument and could be used in related studies.
