كَرز (karz) واژه‌اي از گويش خراسان در شاهنامه؟ (طرح مساله و اقتراح)

Karz, a word from khorasan Dialect in Shahnameh?

مصراع «شب تيره و گُرزهاي گران» در شاهنامه دو بار از زبان رستم تكرار شده است. بخش دومِ اين مصراع در نسخه‌هاي شاهنامه «كرزهاي كران» نوشته شده است و تقريباً همه چاپ‌كنندگان و مصحّحانِ اين متن آن را «گُرزهاي گران» خوانده‌اند كه تركيبي آشنا و پر‌كاربرد در سخن فردوسي است. يكي از مصحّحانِ شاهنامه در چاپ خويش اين تركيب را به «كُرزه‌هاي گران» تصحيحِ قياسي كرده و «كُرزه» را در معناي «كشت‌زار» ناظر بر خويد و سبزه‌زارِ مذكور در هفت‌خانِ رستم دانسته‌اند. نگارنده با استفاده از دقّت و توجّهِ اين مصحّح و رعايتِ نهايتِ احتياط و احتمالِ علمي، صورتِ «كَرزهاي گران» را پيش‌نهاد كرده و به اقتراحِ صاحب‌نظران گذاشته است. «كَرز» (karz) از واژه‌هاي گويشيِ خراسان (متداول در قاين) و در معناي «شكافِ بزرگ در كوه» است و «كَرزهاي گران» به معنيِ «گودال‌ها و شكاف‌هايِ صعب‌العبورِ كوه‌ها» مي‌تواند به گذشتن رستم از ناهمواري‌ها و مَغاك‌ها و كوه‌هاي مازندران در داستان هفت‌خان اشاره داشته باشد.

The following hemistich "dark night and heavy maces" was repeated twice on behalf of Rostam in Shahnameh. The next part of this hemistich in other Shahnameh editions is written as "Karzhay-e geran", yet almost all publishers and editors of this text read this as "gorzhay-e geran" which is a more familiar compound and highly employed in Ferdowsiʹs speech. In one edition of Shahnameh one of its editors had corrected this compound as "korzehay-e geran" and assumed the meaning of "sown field" for "korz" on the basis of that in Haft Khane Rostam. The writer of this article with all due respect to the above interpretation suggest the form "karzhay-e geran" and hence leave the judgement to the authorities. "karz" is a dialectical word popular in Qayen in Khorasan Province which means great crevice in the mountain, and hence "karzhay-e geran" could refer to Rostamʹs passing these highly dangerous crevices in the mountains of Mazandaran in the story of Haft Khan.
