Grounds and Social Factors in the Formation and Promotion of Ghuridsʹ Military Power

در نوشتار حاضر به بررسی زمینه‌ها و عوامل مؤثر در شكل‌گیری و ارتقای توان‌مندی نظامی غوریان و چگونگی اقدامات نظامی آن‌ها برای مقابله با مهاجمان و رقیبان پرداخته شده است. هم‌چنین با اتكا به اطلاعات موجود در منابع تاریخی و با رویكرد توصیفی ـ تحلیلی، فراز و فرودهای دستیابی غوریان به قدرت و توان‌مندی نظامی و عوامل مختلف مؤثر در شكل‌گیری و پیشرفت قدرت نظامی غوریان بررسی شده است. در این گفتار، این پرسش اساسی مورد توجه قرار گرفته است كه شكل‌گیری قدرت نظامی غوریان و ارتقای توان‌مندی نظامی آنان متأثر از چه عوامل داخلی و بیرونی بود؟ یافته‌های این پژوهش مشخص می‌كند كه بخشی از شكل‌گیری و ارتقای توان‌مندی نظامی غوریان مرهون عوامل داخلی مانند موقعیت كوهستانی غور، خصوصیات مردم این سرزمین، و برخورداری غور از معادن فلزات مورد استفاده در ساخت جنگ‌افزارها بود. افزون بر این، نقش عوامل بیرونی مانند درگیری‌های غوریان با برخی همسایگان و افزایش انگیزة غوریان برای دستیابی به قدرت و دفع مهاجمان، گسترش قلمرو غوریان، تقابل آن‌ها با رقیبان قدرت‌مند، و ارتقای توان‌مندی نظامی غوریان از طریق بهره‌مندی آن‌ها از تجارب نظامی دیگر قدرت‌ها نیز بازنمود شده است.

The present article studies the grounds and factors which influenced the formation and promotion of Ghurids’ military power and their military actions for encountering invaders and rivals. The present paper, based on historical sources and a descriptive- analytic approach, has studied the ups and downs experienced by the Ghurids for gaining military authority and power and also various factors effective in the formation and development of Ghurids’ military power. The main issue addressed by this study is the internal and external factors effective in the formation of Ghurids’ military power and the promotion of their military abilities. The findings of the research indicate that internal elements such as Ghur mountainous location, the characteristics of its people and its enjoyment of mines of metals utilized in making arms had influenced their gaining military power. Furthermore, external factors such as Ghuridsʹ struggles with some of their powerful neighbors, increase in their motives for gaining power and repelling invaders, expansion of Ghuridsʹ territory and their encountering powerful rivals, and promotion of their military power via military experiences of other powers were also at work.
