اين پژوهش به مطالعه ميزان دقت در ترجمه معناي ضمني و كنايي استعاره‌ها و كنايه‌هاي سه سوره مباركه هود،‌ يوسف و انبيا مي‌پردازد. براي تشخيص معناي عبارات كنايي از معناي ضمني استعاره نوع دوم از جمله استعاره مركب نياز به تبيين فرق استعاره مركب و ديگر انواع آن با كنايه داريم كه در اين مقاله راه‌هاي تشخيص آن ذكر شده است. سپس عبارات كنايي و عبارات استعاري موجود در سه سوره مباركه هود، يوسف و انبيا مشخص شده و دقت ترجمه معناي ضمني و كنايي اين عبارات در پنج ترجمه؛ ترجمه فولادوند با موضوع آزاد، ترجمه‌هاي مجد و گرمارودي با موضوع ادبي، ترجمه بانو امين و ترجمه خاني و رياضي با موضوع عرفاني مطالعه گرديد. توضيحات علمي بيش‌تر روش تشخيص استعاره نوع دوم از كنايه در اين مقاله تبيين شده است.
