A New Osteotomy Method for correction of Hallux Valgus

In a prospective study this osteotomy was performed on 14 cases of Hallux valgus randomely. In Hallux valgus patient osteotomy depends on valgus angle and other factors at the proximal site of the first metarsal or around the metatarsophalyngeal joint. Our patients needed osteotomy at proximal site of the first metatars, which was carried out by a new appraoch. In this contemporary method, the first metatars was osteotomized in frontal plane obliquely and after correction fixed with 2 screws. The result of the operation was good in 12 cases, fair in one case and bad in last one. This procedure is recommended for modrate Hallux valgus because of good results.
