ژيوپليتيك، ترسيم كننده قدرت ملي كشورها محسوب مي‌ شود كه براساس آن هر كدام از مولفه‌ هاي ثابت و متغير آن مي‌ تواند باعث تضعيف و يا تقويت قدرت ملي شوند. در اين بين، مناطق مرزي به عنوان يكي از اين رويكردها كه مولفه‌ هايي چون وسعت، فضا و موقعيت جغرافيايي را در خود جاي داده است، در بسط و انسجام ژيوپليتيك يك كشور نقش مهمي را ايفا مي‌ نمايد. استان گيلان به عنوان يكي از استان هاي پيشرو در كشور با طبيعت و مناظر منحصر به فرد، داراي كاركردهاي قوي اقتصادي، فرهنگي، اجتماعي و بازرگاني در ساليان اخير توانسته است علاوه بر اثرگذاري داخلي، در سطح منطقه‌ اي نيز جايگاه خود را تثبيت نمايد. تحقيق حاضر كه توصيفي- تحليلي بوده، با گردآوري اطلاعات به روش كتابخانه‌ اي، مقالات، اينترنت و بانك هاي اطلاعاتي، سعي داشت دلايل جايگاه ژيوپليتيك استان گيلان را در سطح منطقه‌ اي با استفاده از كاركردهاي اقتصادي- بازرگاني، اجتماعي- فرهنگي و سياسي- امنيتي مورد بررسي قرار دهد و در پايان پيشنهادهايي را در راستاي بهره گيري هر چه بهتر از پتانسيل ها و فرصت‌ هاي موجود ارايه نمايد. نتايج تحقيق نشان داد كه كاركردهاي اقتصادي- بازرگاني، اجتماعي- فرهنگي و سياسي- امنيتي استان گيلان به عنوان يكي از امن‌ ترين استان هاي مرزي كشور، فرصت‌ هاي مناسبي را براي مسولين كشوري و استاني فراهم مي‌ آورد تا به عنوان يك جايگاه ژيوپليتيك منحصر به فرد در كشور و منطقه، واكاوي دوباره‌ اي از توانمندي ها و بسترهاي موجود در جهت ارتقا هر چه بيشتر استان فراهم آورند. همچنين كاركردهاي مطلوب فوق الذكر، همگي در چهارچوب جايگاه ژيوپليتيك منحصر به فرد گيلان قابل تفسير است. اين مسيله فرصت مناسبي را براي استان خواهد داشت تا ضمن واكاوي كاركردهاي استان از اين پتانسيل ها در جهت افزايش توسعه اثرگذار با كشورهاي منطقه بهره برداري نمايد.

Geopolitical, national power is drawn in which each of the fixed and variable components that can weaken or strengthen the national power and in the meantime, the border region as one of the approaches that components such as the size, space and geographical location in its place, in the development and geopolitical cohesion of a country plays an important role. Guilan province, as one of the leading provinces in the country with unique nature and landscape, has strong economic functions, cultural, social and commercial impact in recent years, in addition to the impact of domestic, regional level is also positioned. The descriptive-analytic study, with data collection to library documents, papers, internet and data banks, tried to reason geo-political status of Guilan at the regional level using the functions of trade-economic, socio-cultural and politico-security and the recommendations in order to exploit better the potential and opportunities. The results showed that the functions of the trade-economic, socio-cultural and the province of Guilan as one of the safest political-security and border provinces, appropriate opportunities provides for national and provincial officials as a unique geopolitical position in the country and the region, re-analysis of existing platforms to enhance capabilities and increase development. The above-mentioned desirable functions, all within a unique geo-political status is interpreted for Guilan province and this is an opportunity for the province to explore the functions of this potential in order to increase the effective development of the the Guilan province in the region.
