The aim of this research was evaluation of the effects of deinnervation of neonatal rat sciatic nerves at intervals of 2, 4, 8, 12 and 24 hours after axotomy. For this purpose 50 neonate mice were axotomied at T12 to L2 spinal segments. Then these segments were stained using Goligi-cox and Cresyl fast violet methods. Our results showed that the
reduction of cell bodyʹs diameter and cell number at 12 and 24 h and length of dendrites at 8h in comparison with control parts were statically significant. It seems that the dendriteʹs thickness may be due to disconnection between target cells and neurons, Also the reduction of number of motorneurons probably resulted from increase in neuroglial cell population.
