اين نوشتار برپايه احاديثي كه همه در صحاح و مسانيد اهل سنت ذيل آيه 12 سوره مايده آمده نوشته شده است و اين حقيقت را بيان مي‏كند كه بعد از پيامبر اكرم اسلام? همانند نقباي بني‏اسراييل دوازده تن نقيب و سرپرست خواهد آمد كه آخرين آنان حضرت مهدي(عجل الله فرجه) است. آنچه در اين پژوهش بيشتر جلب توجّه مي‏كند اين است كه دانشمنداني مشهور از آنان خواسته‌اند شمار 12 تن خليفه را با خلفاي حاكمان اموي يا عباسي تطبيق دهند ولي موفق نشده‏اند. تامّل و حقيقت‏جويي، صحت باور شيعه را در اين زمينه معلوم مي‏كند.

Traditions ‘Abd al-Kar?m ‘Abd Allahi Dr. Muhammad Mahdi Rukni Yazdi This writing is based on traditions that are all mentioned in the Sunn?’s ?a???s and Musnads (anthologies of traditions) under the verse 12 of S?rat al-M?’ida and elaborates on the fact that after the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.), there will come twelve chieftains and guardians, just like the Chieftains of Ban? Isr?’?l, the last of whom is Imam al-Mahd? (Aj.). What draws more attention in this research is that some of their scholars have tried to compare twelve of the caliphs with the Abbasid caliphs but of no avail.
