الهيات معنويت؟ معنويت پست‌مدرن و امكان‌سنجي استخراج نظام اعتقادي

Theology of Spirituality? The Postmodern Spirituality and the Study of the Feasibility of Deriving a Belief System

«معنويت» نامي عام براي هر نوع فراروي و يا محدود‌نماندن در «زندگي روزمره» است. امروزه واژه معنويت به‌ويژه در فضاي فكري انگلوامريكن، بيشتر به آن نوع فراروي اطلاق مي‌شود كه فارغ از الزامات دينِ نهادينه باشد. البته اين رويكرد مي‌تواند هم از جانب دين‌داران و هم بي‌دينان اتخاذ شود و صرفاً رويكردي است در معنايابي و تعيين محلِ شدن در هستي. مقاله حاضر مي‌كوشد پس از شناسايي ويژگي‌هاي اين رويكرد جديد به اين پرسش بپردازد كه آيا مي‌توان براي معنويت‌گرايي مذكور نظامي الهياتي يافت. آيا معنويت جديد ساختار فكري مشخصي دارد و آيا مي‌توان از اين ساختار به‌عنوان دستگاهي الهياتي و قابل تميز از ديگر دستگاه‌هاي الهياتي يادكرد. اين مقاله با استفاده از نظريه‌هاي مطرح در زمينه چيستي معنويت جديد تلاش مي‌كند نخست ويژگي‌هاي اين نوع معنويت را بشناساند و سپس با بيان زمينه‌هاي فكري پيدايش آن، به تحليل محوري‌ترين باور معنويت‌گرايان جديد، يعني سياليت و پويايي اعتقادي و پرهيز از تسليم و تعبد بپردازد. مدعاي مقاله حاضر آن است كه دلالت‌هاي ضمني اين باورها و همچنين لوازم و پيامدهاي آنها باعث مي‌شود كه امكان شكل‌گيري يك نظام الهياتي مشخص و منسجم در بين معنويت‌گرايان جديد منتفي گشته و راه براي ارائه قرائت‌هاي سليقه‌اي در دين‌داري هموار شود. به بيان ديگر، الهيات معنويت جديد با نگاه نظام‌مند ضديت دارد و هرچند متضمن باورهاي به‌نسبت متداول است، ايجاد نظام اعتقادي منسجم را مطلوب نمي‌داند.

“Spirituality” is a general name for any sort of going beyond or overcoming limitations in “everyday life”. Today in the AngloAmerican world, the term, “spirituality”, is used mostly for the sort of going beyond everyday life which is free from religious requirements. Such an approach can be adopted both by believers and unbelievers. It is just an approach to finding meaning, and locating the point of becoming, in the being. This paper seeks to identify the features of this new approach and discuss the question whether a theological system can be found for such a spirituality. Is there a specific intellectual structure to the modern spirituality? And can such a structure be characterized as a theological system, distinguishable from other such systems? Drawing upon extant theories concerning the nature of the modern spirituality, the paper seeks to, first, identify the features of this spirituality, and then illustrate intellectual backgrounds out of which it appeared and analyze the most central conviction of modern spiritualists, that is, the dynamics of beliefs and avoidance of obedience. I claim that implications of such convictions and their consequences rules out the possibility of the formation of a certain, coherent theological system for modern spiritualism and the feasibility of personalized readings of the religion. In other words, the theology of modern spirituality is at odds with systematicity, and although it involves rather common beliefs, it does not consider a coherent belief system to be desirable.
