كرونولوژي استاندارد محاورات افلاطون و شواهد سبك‎شناختي

Standard Chronology in Plato’s Dialogues and Stylometric Evidences

اين مقاله به دنبال روشن ساختن دو نكته است: 1. كرونولوژي هاي ارائه شده از محاورات افلاطون از ربع آخر قرن نوزدهم تاكنون همگي ساختاري مشابه دارند؛ ساختاري كه مي توان آن را به جهت غلبۀ كاملش كرونولوژي استاندارد ناميد؛ 2. علي رغم اين حقيقت كه ظهور اين ساختار مديون شواهد سبك شناختي و متأثر از آن هاست، به جز محاورات متأخر جايگاه ديگر محاورات در اين ساختار توسط شواهد يادشده تأييد نمي شود. كرونولوژي استاندارد تمايل دارد محاوراتي همچون منون و جمهوري را پس از محاورات سقراطي و پيش از پارمنيدس و ثئايتتوس قرار دهد. اين ساختار همچنين تأكيد دارد كه اين دو محاورۀ اخير پس از محاورات مياني و پيش از محاورات متأخري چون سوفيست، تيمائوس، فيلبوس و قوانين قرار گيرد. اين جستار تلاش مي كند نشان دهد به جز شباهت ميان اين محاورات متأخر و تأخر احتمالي آن ها، جايگاه ديگر محاورات به ويژه محاورات مياني، ثئايتتوس و پارمنيدس هيچ گونه مبناي سبك شناختي ندارد.

Abstract What are to be discussed in this article include two main points: i) some kind of a fixed structure can be found in all the chronologies that have been proposed from the last quarter of 19th century onward; a structure that is called here amp;ldquo;standardamp;rdquo; chronology, and ii) in spite of the fact that the appearance of this structure owes too much to the stylistic evidences, these evidences themselves do not confirm anything in the structure but the place of the socalled late dialogues. The standard chronology of Platoamp;rsquo;s dialogues is inclined to consider Meno and Republic as dialogues that have been composed after socalled Socratic dialogues and before Parmenides and Theaetetus. This chronology also insists that the latter two dialogues must be dated after socalled middle dialogues and before dialogues like Sophist, Timaeus, Philebus and Laws. This papper is to illuminate the fact that except the similarities between the late dialogues and their probable lateness, the place of other dialogues, more importantly among them the socalled middle period dialogues, Theaetetus and Parmenides, cannot be approved by stylistic evidences.
