نقد و ارزيابيِ يكي از براهين اثبات واجب الوجود براساس فرض تسلسل

Reviewing an Argument for the Existence of the Necessary Being According to the Infinite Regression Presupposition

براهين بسياري براي اثبات واجب‎الوجود صورت‌بندي و ارائه شده‎اند. در يك دسته‎بندي كلّي، مي‎توان اين براهين را به سه دستۀ به‌شرطِ‌لا از تسلسل، لابه‌شرط از تسلسل و به‌شرط تسلسل تقسيم كرد؛ براين‌اساس، اكثر براهين اثبات وجود خداوند متعال، در دو دستۀ لابه‌شرط و به‌شرط لا از تسلسل قرار مي‎گيرند. موضوع مقالۀ حاضر، نقد و ارزيابيِ برهاني است كه در مقاله‎اي تحت عنوان «اثبات واجب‎الوجود براساس فرض تسلسل: نگاهي به برهان ابن‎سينا و اقامۀ برهاني بديع» در شماره بيست و يكم همين نشريه به چاپ رسيده است. مؤلفان مقاله‎ي نام‎برده تلاش كرده‎اند تا با فرض تسلسل، و استفاده از برخي اصول فلسفي ديگر، برهاني بديع ارائه كنند تا در دستۀ سوم از تقسيم‎بندي فوق قرار گيرد. در مقاله‎ي حاضر سعي شده است تا برهان مذكور با روش تحليل منطقي، مورد نقد و ارزيابي قرار بگيرد. نتايج حاصل از اين بررسي نشان مي‎دهد كه اين برهان اولاً، جداي از صدق يا كذب مقدماتش، حاوي برخي اشكالات صوري است، و ثانياً مبتني بر مقدمه‎اي است كه در حالت كلّي صادق نبوده و نيازمند بازنگري است. نقايص صوري اين برهان را مي‌توان با اعمال تغييراتي در برخي از مقدمات و تدقيق ساختار صوري استدلال برطرف كرد؛ اما تازماني‌كه مقدمه‎ي كاذب آن با مقدمه‎اي ديگر جايگزين نگردد، يا به‎نحوي اصلاح نشود، برهان يادشده ناتمام است.

There are many arguments formulated for the existence of the necessary Being. In a general categorization, one can divide them to three groups: conditioned to the infinite regression, indifferent to the condition of infinite regression, conditioned to the invalidity of infinite regression. In this way, the majority of the arguments for the existence of God belong to the second and third groups. The subject of this study is an argument presented in an article in the 21th issue of this journal titled “Proof for the Necessary Being Using the Infinite Regression Principle: Looking at Avicenna's Argument and the Formation of a Novel Argument.” Presupposing the infinite regression and using some other philosophical principles, the authors of that article tried to present a novel argument categorized in the first group. In the present article, that argument is examined by a logical analysis. The findings of this article firstly show that the argument, regardless of the truth value of its premises, has some formal deficiencies, and secondly has a premise that generally is not true and needs revision. Formal deficiencies of the argument could be resolved by modifying some of the premises and finetuning the formal structure of the argument; but unless the false premise of the argument being replaced by another premise, or being modified in a way, the argument will remain incomplete.
