ايجاد تلگرافخانه و كنسولگري انگلستان در بنادر و جزاير هرمزگان

The Establishment of English Telegraph Office and Consulate in Hormozgan’s Ports and Islands.

يكي از مسائلي كه انگلستان به عنوان ابزاري براي تحقق اهداف خود دنبال مي كرد، تأسيس تلگرافخانه و كنسولگري در منطقه ي خليج فارس بود تا از اين طريق بتواند اهداف خود را در منطقه دنبال كند. تلگرافخانه، بمبئي را به مسقط، جزاير هنگام، قشم، بندرعباس، كرمان و سرانجام تهران متصل مي كرد. تلگرافخانه مي توانست اخبار را به سرعت منتقل نمايد و به كمك آن دستورات لازم دولت بريتانيا نيز در اسرع وقت دريافت شود. تلاش دولت بريتانيا براي به وجود آوردن مراكز سياسي به منظور ايجاد حريمي امنيتي در خاك كشور هاي ديگر، به دنبال تحميل اراده ي نظامي اين دولت بر مناطق مختلف جهان به ويژه خليج فارس و ايران صورت گرفت. كنسولخانه هاي انگلستان در شهرهاي متعدد ايران به ويژه اصفهان، يزد ، كرمان، مشهد، شيراز و بندرعباس تشكيل شد كه هر يك از آنها زير نظر سفارتخانه ي اين كشور در تهران اداره مي شد. بنا به مقتضيات زمانه برخي از اين كنسولگري ها به صورت مستقيم با لندن ارتباط برقرار مي كردند. در اين خصوص كنسولگري هاي بريتانيا در خليج فارس ـ بوشهر و بندر عباس ـ از اهميت زيادي برخوردار بودند.

One of the issues followed by the English as a way to reach their ends was establishing telegraph office and consulate in the Persian Gulf, so that they could follow their purposes in the area. The telegraph office connected Bombay to Masghat, Hengam Island, Qeshm, Bandare Abbas, Kerman, and finally Tehran. The telegraph office could transmit the news very rapidly, and the British statersquo s orders were received very soon via it. The British statersquo s efforts to establish some political centers in order to create some privacy in other countries was a result of British imposition of military power on the different areas of the world specially the Persian Gulf and Iran. Englandrsquo s consulates were established in Iranrsquo s different cities like Isfahan, Yazd, Kerman, Mashhad, Shiraz, and Bandare Abbas. Each of these consulates was administered by Englandrsquo s consulate in Tehran. When necessary, some of these consulates made relationship to London directly. So, British consulates in the Persian Gulf, Boushehr, and Bandare Abbas were of great importance.
