Photograph Reading and Analysis Based on Analytical Instruments of Semiotic Approach

اگرچه ثبت عناصر دنياي واقعي در سرشت عكاسي عجين شده است، اما عكس صرفاً جهاني همسان و همانند جهان واقعي ارايه نمي‌كند، بلكه علاوه‌بر خصلت ارجاع‌دهندگي و بازنمايانه، از قابليت بيان‌گرايانه نيز برخوردار است. بنابراين، هر عكس را مي‌توان به‌مثابه متني نشانه‌اي دانست كه دلالت‌هاي متعددي را در معرض تفسير و تاويل مخاطب قرار مي‌دهد. ازاين‌رو، كاربست ابزارهاي تحليليِ رويكرد نشانه‌شناسي در تحليل و خوانش عكس، هدف اين مقاله است. بدين منظور، اصل جانشيني و همنشيني، تعامل و تقابل نشانه‌ها، معناي صريح و ضمني، بافت يا زمينه و بينامتنيت، معرفي و در تحليل و خوانش عكس به آزمون گذاشته شده‌اند. پرسش‌هاي مطرح‌شده عبارت‌اند از: 1. سازوكار و نقش ابزارهاي تحليلي رويكرد نشانه‌شناسي در تحليل و خوانش عكس چيست. 2. اهميت كاربست اين ابزارها در تجزيه ‌و تحليل عكس چيست. روش تحقيق، توصيفي- تحليلي و اطلاعات، از منابع كتابخانه‌اي جمع‌آوري شده است. كليه نمونه‌هاي تصويري نيز از شاخه عكاسي مستند انتخاب شده‌اند. نتايج پژوهش بيانگر اين است كه به‌واسطه كاربست ابزارهاي تحليليِ موجود در رويكرد نشانه‌شناسي، افزون‌بر تجزيه‌ و تحليل و خوانش روشمند عكس‌ها، جلوه‌هاي متعدد مفهومي، بصري و زيبايي‌شناسي آنها آشكار مي‌شود و چارچوبي براي تقسيم‌بندي عكس‌ها نيز فراهم مي‌گردد. بدين شكل كه به كمك اين ابزارها، بهتر و دقيق‌تر مي‌توان جهت ارجاع عكس‌ها را تشخيص داد و عكس‌ها را در قالب سه دسته كلي قرار داد. اين دسته‌بندي به‌ترتيب درجه اهميت عبارت‌ است از: 1. عكس‌هاي عكاس‌محور 2. عكس‌هاي سوژه‌محور 3. عكس‌هاي دوربين‌محور.

Although recording of real-world elements has been forged in the nature of photography, a photograph doesn’t provide a similar and as much as identical reality of the world, and it has an expressionistic capability besides its representative characteristic as well. Therefore each photograph can be seen as an indicative text which provides several implications for the addressees’ interpretation and hermeneutics. So reading and analyzing a photograph on the basis of analytical instruments of the semiotic approach, and also extending the studies with regard to the criticism of photographs, are the purposes of this paper. Thus in this paper, some of the analytical instruments of semiotic approach such as the principle of substitution and accompaniment, indication of interaction and contrast, meaning of implicit and explicit, texture with context or intertextuality, have been experimented in analyzing and reading a photograph. The raised questions are: 1. what is the mechanism and function of analytical instruments in reading a photograph? 2. What is the significance of these instruments in analyzing- reading and criticism of a photograph? The research methodology is descriptive-analytical. The results indicate that applying the semiotic approach instruments, in addition to systemic analyzing and reading of photos, various conceptual, visual and aesthetic manifestations would be revealed and a framework would be provided for aesthetic and qualitative evaluation. Hence according to the semiotic analytical instruments, photographs are categorized in three general groups in respect of their importance: 1. Photographer-oriented, 2. Subject-oriented, 3. Camera-oriented.
