تطور و تكوين معنايي واژه كُرد در منابع دوره اسلامي (قرن اول تا نهم هجري)

(The Evolution and Development of the Meaning of the Term “Kurd” in the Sources of the Islamic Period (1 th to 9 th Century AH

واژه كُرد كه امروزه به عنوان يكي از گروه­ هاي قومي منطقه خاورميانه، فهم مي­ شود، در منابع دوره اسلامي كاربرد و معنايي مبهم دارد. در دوره معاصر برخي از پژوهشگران، واژه كُردِ منابع را با تلقّي رايج امروزي، در پژوهش هاي تاريخي به كار گرفته ­اند؛ در حالي كه دسته ي ديگر كه توجه را به درك متفاوت منابع از اين واژه جلب كرده ­اند، به شرح و بسط نظر خود نپرداخته و به طريق اولي به فرايند تطور معنايي آن در منابع، بي توجه ­اند. پژوهش حاضر با روش تاريخي - تحليلي كاربردهاي مختلف واژه كُرد در منابع را با توجه به قرائن و نشانه­ هاي معنايي مورد بررسي قرار داده است. يافته ­هاي تحقيق نشان مي دهد كه واژه كُرد در چند قرن نخست دوره اسلامي هم در معناي قومي و هم براي اشاره به دارندگان شيوه معيشت كوچروي به كار مي ­رفت؛ اما در طي فرايندي كه در شرح آن كوشيده­ ايم، كاربرد كُرد در معناي كوچ نشين ترك شده و اين واژه حدوداَ از قرن هفتم هجري، صرفا با معناي قومي به كار رفته است

The term “Kurd” which is conceived as one of the ethnic groups in the Middle East nowadays, has an ambiguous meaning and application in the sources of the Islamic period. In the contemporary era, some researchers have employed the present meaning of the term “Kurd” (i.e. an ethnic group) in historical studies. Some researchers, on the other hand, have discussed the various interpretations of the term in different sources. They, however, have not elaborated on their views and have paid little heed to the evolution of the term in different sources. This study examines the various applications of the term in Islamic sources based on the semantic signs using a historical-analytic method. The results show that the term “Kurd” has been used to refer to both an ethnic group and a group of people with nomadic life style in the first centuries of the Islamic period. However, the term stopped to be used in the sense of nomadic people gradually and since the seventh century AH onward, it has been used with the meaning of an ethnic group
