Effect of chemical control on over-wintered population of olive psyllid Euphyllura alivina costa (Horn., Aphalaridae) in Tarom- Sofla region (Qazvin province)

Chemical control is one of the most important strategies in Integrated Pest Management ([PM). Studies on the chemical control with emphasis on effectiveness of emulsifiabl oil on dormant oilve psylla, Euphyllura olivina costa, were carried out in Tarornm-sofla region (Qazvin province) during 1996-1997. Emulsifiable oil (1 and 2%), Azinphos methyl 0/002 alone and with oil 1%, Etrimfos 0100115 without and with oil I% and control treatment with 3 replications were tested in a Randomized Complete Block Designe. Results showed that emulsifiable oil 2% for its stability, less side effect on environment and natural enemies and economic aspects when that applied pre oviposition is preferred for control of olive psylla.
