Various Approaches to Rela tions between India and the West: Achaemenids and Soluki Cases

در اين نوشتار، نويسنده سعي دارد تا با بررسي داده هاي باستان شناسي، متون كهن و علوم باستاني نظير رياضيات، طالع بيني و ستاره شناسي به چگونگي مناسبات و ارتباطات فرهنگي جوامع هندي، ايراني، بين النهرين و يوناني و نقش آنها در توسعه دانش بشري به ويژه در دوران فرمانروايي هخامنشيان و استمرار آن در دوره سلوكيان بپردازد. بدين منظور نويسنده با تاكيد بر جايگاه دانش ستاره شناسي و طالع بيني در اين مبادلات، با نگاهي نقادانه به بررسي آراء و نظرات افرادي چون جي. كندي، ديويد پينگري، هلموت هومباخ و رويديگر اشميت مي پردازد و از متوني نظير تاريخ هرودوت، آثاروا ودا و پنجاسدانتا بهره مي گيرد و ضمن اين بررسي ها سعي دارد تا براي پرسش هاي زير پاسخ هايي مناسب پيدا كند: پيشينه ارتباط هند با همسايگان غربي اش به چه دوره اي باز مي گردد؟ نفوذ ايراني ها بر فرهنگ هندي تا چه ميزان بوده است؟ هندي ها و بابلي ها با توجه به حاكميت هخامنشيان و سلوكيان بر سرزمين هاي شان از چه طريقي با يكديگر در ارتباط بوده اند و اين ارتباطات و مبادلات تا چه مقدار تحت تاثير دولت هاي حاكم و غالب بوده است؟

Contemplating the circumstances under which the Greeks forged ties with India and the legacy of Alexander the Great, expanded the scope of research from the 4th century B.C to millennia before. As an archeologist I have developed a tendency to seek the root cause of every phenomenon. In this regard, I broke free of the narrow confines of the research and assessed the relations between India and the West far beyond the conventional time frame mcntioneu in this paper. A history of cultural ties could set the stage for a better transference of thoughts, technology anu the produced goods of other nations. Therefore, it could be deduced that the relations of Ekdis and the third Our Dynasty in the south of Mesopotamia with the cities from the Harapan civilization Juring the two to three century of the last three millennia B.C set the stage for relations between India and western cultures in later periods and after the victories earned by Alexander the Great. On the other hand, due to a 2000 -year gap between the civilizations of Harapan and Late India and their relations with the West, a logical relations between them seems rather unlikely.
