بهترين راه براي بررسي و مطالعه‌ي پديده‌هاي مركب به دست آوردن فهمي كلي از آن‌ها است كه جغرافياي حوزه‌ي مطالعاتي مطلوب را به پژوهشگران نشان دهد. از اين روي براي مطالعه‌ي پديده‌ي آينده محور «تمدن نوين اسلامي» لازم است ابتدا مرزهاي مفهومي آن مورد بازشناسي قرار گيرد. آيت الله خامنه‌اي به عنوان تاثيرگذارترين عالم شيعي در قرن بيست و يكم داراي سپهري انديشه‌اي است كه افق‌هاي گوناگون آن سيراب از آموزه‌هاي اصيل اسلامي است؛ به همين علت شناخت مرزهاي مفهومي تمدن نوين اسلامي در انديشه‌ي ايشان گامي مهم در راستاي نيل به معرفت صحيح از فرهنگ سياسي تشيع مي‌باشد. سوال اصلي نوشتار حاضر آن است كه آفاق تمدن نوين اسلامي در سپهر انديشه‌ي آيت الله خامنه‌اي چيست؟ براي پاسخگويي به اين پرسش انگاره‌ي تمدن نوين اسلامي در چهار حوزه‌ي كلان هستي شناسي، معرفت شناسي، غايت شناسي، و روش شناسي در انديشه‌ي آيت الله خامنه‌اي مورد مطالعه و بازتفسير قرار گرفت. يافته‌هاي پژوهش نشان مي‌دهد تمدن نوين اسلامي در انديشه‌ي ايشان از لحاظ هستي شناسي به صورت دوبعدي، در قالب معرفت شناسي آفاقي، با غايت سعادت طلبي، و در نهايت روش شناسي اخلاقي فهم مي‌گيرد. نوشتار حاضر در زمره‌ي پژوهش‌هاي كيفي فلسفي-سياسي است كه باروش توصيفي - تحليلي صورت گرفته و منابع آن از طريق مطالعه‌ي اسنادي و رجوع به منابع موجود گردآوري شده است.
