ارزيابي مطابقت مجلات انگليسي‌ زبان علوم پزشكي ايراني با معيارهاي عيني پذيرش مجلات در پايگاه‌ اطلاعاتي Scopus

Conformity Assessment of Iranian Medical Journals Written in English with the Objective Acceptance Criteria of Journals in the Scopus Database

مقدمه: نمايه شدن نشريات علمي كشورها در نمايه‌نامه‌هاي استنادي جهاني، به اعتلاي رتبه علمي آن‌ها در سطح جهان و افزايش سهم مشاركت در توليد علم جهان كمك مي‌‌نمايد. هدف از انجام مطالعه حاضر، ارزيابي مطابقت مجلات انگليسي زبان حوزه پزشكي ايراني نمايه نشده در پايگاه اطلاعاتي Scopus با معيارهاي عيني پذيرش مجلات در اين پايگاه بود. روش بررسي: اين مطالعه، توصيفي از نوع كاربردي بود. جامعه پژوهش را شماره آخر 52 عنوان مجله انگليسي زبان حوزه پزشكي ايران كه در پايگاه اطلاعاتي Scopus نمايه نشده بودند، تشكيل داد. داده‌ها با مشاهده سايت‌هاي ارايه دهنده مجلات و با ابزار چك‌ليست جمع‌آوري گرديد. در نهايت، داده‌ها در نرم‌افزار Excel مورد تجزيه و تحليل قرار گرفت. يافته‌ها: 7/32 درصد نشريات فاقد ويراستار خارجي و 6/59 درصد فاقد نويسنده خارجي بودند. 6/77 كل چكيده‌ها ساختار يافته بود. ميزان خوداستنادي پايين گزارش شد و بيش از 70 درصد نشريات، به صورت منظم منتشر مي‌شدند. 49 درصد نشريات نيز خروجي EndNote داشتند. نتيجه‌گيري: نشريات در بيشتر معيارها وضعيت مطلوبي داشتند، اما سطح پايين همكاري با نويسندگان و ويراستاران خارجي و درصد كم مجلات داراي خروجي EndNote، از جمله موارد ضعف محسوب مي‌شود كه نياز به توجه بيشتري دارد.

Introduction: Indexing of a country’s scientific journals in international citation indexes helps the promotion of that country’s academic rank in the world and increases their contributions to global knowledge production. The present study aimed to assess the conformity of Iranian medical journals written in English that are not indexed in Scopus database with its objective acceptance criteria. Methods: The current applied descriptive study assessed the latest issues of 52 Iranian medical journals written in English that were not indexed in Scopus database. Data were collected through observing the journals’ websites and using a checklist. The collected data were analyzed in Excel software. Results: The results showed that 32.7% of the journals did not have foreign editors and 59.6% did not have foreign authors. According to the results, 77.6% of abstracts were structured. In addition, the amount of self-citations was low and more than 70% of journals were being published regularly. The findings also showed that 49% of journals had EndNote output. Conclusion: The studied journals were favorable in terms of most of the criteria, but required cooperation with foreign editors and writers and more EndNote outputs
