Educational Opinions of Abu’l Ḥasan Qābisī: An Introduction to the Intellectual Principles and Social Backgrounds

ابوالحسن عَلی قابِسی (متوفی 403ق/1012م)، فقیه مالكی مذهب در افریقیه و صاحب كتابی در تعلیم و تربیت اسلامی موسوم به الرِساله المُفَصَله لاحوال المُتِعَلِّمین و احكام المُعَلِّمین و المُتِعَلِّمین است كه محتوا و برنامه آموزشی اهل سنت در آن منطقه دست كم تا سده نهم هجری بر اساس آراء مطرح شده در این اثر بوده است. پژوهش حاضر، ضمن بررسی زمینه ها و عوامل اجتماعی و سیاسی تأثیرگذار بر آراء فقهی- كلامی و تربیتی قابسی، خطوط اصلی مطرح در الرساله المفصلهرا به روش توصیفی- تحلیلی مورد واكاوی قرار داده است. یافته های این پژوهش نشان می دهد، اندیشه های قابسی و محتوای اثر وی بیش از هر چیز متأثر از تكاپوهای سیاسی - فرهنگی فاطمیان و بنی زیری و واكنشی به فعالیت آنها بوده است.

Abu’l Ḥasan Qābisī (d. 403/1012), the jurist of the Mālikī School in Afrikiyah and the author of a book in Islamic education called Al-Risālat al-Mufaṣṣala li Aḥwāl al-Muti‘allimīn wa Aḥkām al-Mu‘allimīn wa al-Muti‘allimīn, which contain the educational content and program of the Sunnīs in that region at least until the ninth century AH as per the opinions presented in this work. While studying the social and political backgrounds impressive on Qābisī’s theo-jurisprudential and educational opinions, the present research has explored the main trends brought up in Al-Risālat al-Mufaṣṣala with the descriptive-analytical method. The findings of this research indicate that the Qābisī’s thoughts and the content of his work have more than anything else been under the influence of the politico-cultural endeavors of the Fatimids and Banī Zayrī and a reaction to their activities.
