هدف اين مقاله، بررسي ژئواستراتژي كردستان عراق و تحليل استراتژي هاي ايالات متحده و ايران در اين محيط است. فضاهاي جغرافيايي مختلف جهان در ابعاد سه گانه داخلي، منطقه اي و جهاني برحسب موقعيت جغرافيايي، وضعيت ژئواكونوميكي و ژئوپليتيكي و همچنين ويژگي هاي فرهنگي آن ها از جايگاه استراتژيكي متفاوتي برخوردارند و بر اين اساس نقش متفاوتي در اعمال سياست ها بازي مي كنند. سوال اصلي مقاله اين است كه ژئواستراتژي كردستان عراق چه مختصاتي دارد و استراتژي هاي ايالات متحده و ايران در مواجهه با اين محيط چگونه است؟ نتايج اين مقاله نشان مي دهد كه محيط فضايي سياسي عراق به نحوي است كه در اين سرزمين برخلاف شيعيان و سني ها كه از حمايت نسبي كشورهاي منطقه برخوردارند، كردها فاقد حمايت منطقه اي قدرتمندي هستند. اين مسئله كردها را به سوي همكاري استراتژيكي و كسب پشتيباني فرامنطقه اي آمريكا، اسرائيل و برخي از كشورهاي اروپايي سوق داده است. براين اساس، به تبع پيوستگي فضايي فرهنگي عراق با كشورهاي پيراموني، كردستان عراق به تقاطع و محل همپوشي تعلقات و علايق ژئوپليتيكي كشورهاي مجاور و بازيگران فرا منطقه اي تبديل شده است. با توجه به اين مقدمه، در اين مقاله تلاش خواهد شد با استفاده از منابع كتابخانه اي و مقالات علمي و پژوهشي به تحليل و تبيين ژئواستراتژي كردستان عراق و تحليل استراتژي هاي ايالات متحده و ايران در اين محيط پرداخته شود.
