تأثير استفاده از زبان انگليسي به عنوان زبان واسط آموزش علم در بين المللي شدن دانشگاهها: مطالعه تطبيقي در اروپا

The role of English language as a medium of instruction in internationalization of higher education: a comparative study in Europe

يكي از مسائل و چالشهاي امروزه نظام آموزش­ عالي كشورها، به خصوص كشورهاي در حال توسعه، بين‌المللي شدن است. در سالهاي اخير به­ دنبال بين‌المللي‌شدن آموزش عالي، زبان واسط آموزش علم به­ عنوان يكي از ابزارهاي بين‌المللي شدن از دغدغه‌هاي سياستگذاري آموزش عالي جهان از سوي سياستگذاران و سياستگزاران مورد توجه واقع شده است. رشد تقريبي ده برابري استفاده از زبان واسط انگليسي در حدود يك دهه و نيز شتاب اين رشد در سالهاي اخير فرض اهميت اين ابزار در بين­ المللي شدن كشورهاي پيشرو و تأثير بسزاي آن در موفقيت آموزش عالي اروپا را قوت مي­ بخشد. هدف از اين جستار بررسي تأثير استفاده از زبان انگليسي به عنوان زبان واسط آموزش بر بين­ المللي شدن دانشگاه­ها بود كه به صورت مطالعه تطبيقي انجام شد. بر اساس كشورهاي پيشرو جهان، كشورهاي قاره اروپا براي بررسي برگزيده شدند. انتخاب كشورهاي اين قاره بر اساس تيپولوژي سازمان ملل بود و انتخاب نمونه ­ها با روش نمونه­ گيري هدفمند طبقه ­اي تا اشباع نظري صورت گرفت. روش تحقيق از نوع تحقيقات كيفي بود و با الهام از روش تطبيقي جرج بردي در چهار مرحله توصيف، ارزيابي و برآورد، همجواري و مقايسه اطلاعات و تحليل صورت گرفت. از اين رو، با بررسي اسنادي و تحليل محتواي تجربه­ هاي بين ­المللي مورد مقايسه، چارچوب ها و ملاكهايي براي تعيين شباهت ها، تفاوتها و نتايج به­ دست آمده از آن بر اساس اهداف پژوهش استخراج شد. نتايج كشف و ارائه شده، راهكارهايي مناسب و همچنين محكي براي كشورمان است.

In developing countries, one of the challenges of higher education is internationalization followed by using English-medium instruction as one of its factors. Nowadays, applying English-medium instruction has increased about 10 times in a decade, and is one of the concerns of policy makers for higher education policy making. Assuming the importance of this tool in the internationalization of higher education in leading countries and it's per found impact on the success of Europe's higher education is strengthen. Using a comparative study, the purpose of current paper was to find the role of English language in internationalization of higher education and to know which different language learning approaches European countries use in their higher education system. Therefore, European countries were chosen as a sample population based on the developed countries. The stratified purposeful sampling and theatrical saturation was used. Qualitative content analysis of texts and top-level documents were applied utilizing Bereday comparative method. After triangulation of findings, criteria and factors were chosen and a framework was developed. The findings were evaluated in an expert panel to be verified and refined using the feedback provided by experts in the field. The panel of subject-matter experts was used to examine the proposed framework. During the evaluation process, useful recommendations were received and the framework was improved. The findings provided appropriate strategies as well as a testing ground for our country.
