اين مقاله نتيجه چند طرح تحقيقاتي و تجربيات شخصي نگارنده با استفاده از روش فرم و فرآيند و تحليل نقشه ­هاي توپوگرافي 1:25000 و زمين شناسي 1:100000و چند فقره بازديد ميداني در محدوده تحقيق انجام گرفته است. هدف از آن شناسائي و پراكندگي نقاط فرسايش قهقرايي و اسارت رودخانه ­ها و ارزيابي پيامدهاي ناشي از وقوع اين پديده بر منابع آبي دشت اردبيل مي‌باشد. نتايج تحقيق نشان داد. در دامنه شرقي تالش به ويژه، حوضه­ هاي دگرمان كش و آق چاي بيشترين فرسايش قهقرايي در حال وقوع است. بطوريكه در نقاط ارتفاعي 1436و1404و1405و1360و1348و1350متري پديده اسارت رودخانه ­ها به وقوع پيوسته است، ولي هنوز عمل انحراف شبكه ­هاي آبي و رودخانه­ هاي دامنه غربي مشرف به دشت اردبيل انجام نگرفته است. در صورت تحقق اين امر در آينده نه چندان دور روستاهاي ننه كران، كله سر، آرپاتپه و آبي بيگلو، اطراف فرودگاه اردبيل و حتي بخش اعظم ميانه شرقي دشت اردبيل با كمبود منابع آب و مسايل زيست محيطي مواجع خواهند شد.
