Editorial samples of the ancient redactors: Abu Nasr-e Otbi’s Ketab al-Yamini and its commentary by Sadr al-Afazel of Khwarazm

تاريخ اليميني اثر ابونصر عُتبي، ازجمله آثار تاريخي است كه به سبب نثر عربي مصنوع و متكلّف، تصحيف و تحريف بسياري بدان راه يافته است. صدر الافاضل خوارزمي يكي از كهن ترين شارحان كتاب اليميني، پاره‌اي از تحريفات و تصحيفاتِ راه يافته به آن را در اليُمني باز نموده و نظرات اصلاحي خود را به دست داده است. در اين مقاله، به طور عمده، به بررسي و تحليل چند نمونه از تحريف‌ها و تصحيف‌هايي پرداخته مي‌شود كه صدرالأفاضل در نسخه يا نسخه‌هاي در دسترس خود از كتاب اليميني، نقل كرده است. در مواردي كه شاهدي براي ترجيح نظر صدر الافاضل بر نظر ديگر شارحان و مصححان قبلي به دست نيامد، تنها به ذكر تفاوت‌ها بسنده شد.

The Tarikh al-Yamini by Abu Nasr-e Otbi is a historical work that, due to its ornate and florid Arabic prose has been subject to very many distortions and misrepresentations. Sadr al-Afazel Khwarazmi. one of the earliest commentators of the Ketab al-Yamini, has revealed some of the corruptions and distortions penetrating the book and put forward his corrective views in his Al-Yomni. The present review mainly addresses a sample of such distortions and inaccuracies that Sadr al-Afazel has quoted from one or several manuscript copies of the Ketab al-Yamini available to him. In cases where no example supporting the preference of Sadr al-Afazel.s view over those of previous commentators and redactors was found, mention was limited to differences between those views only.
