مشاركت شهرداري همواره موضوع دامنه ­داري در حوزه برنامه­ ريزي بوده و به همين دليل برنامه ­ريزان شهري تلاش كرده­اند در تصميم گيري­ هاي شهري، از نظر شهروندان آگاه شده و با همكاري آنان، برنامه­ ريزي خود را عملي كنند. اين مقاله با رويكردي توصيفي- تحليلي و با استفاده از روش ­هاي كتابخانه ­اي و ميداني، به دنبال ارزيابي مشاركت شهرداري منطقه­ ي2 شهر شيراز در ارتقاي شاخص اقتصادي مسكن شهري است. ابزار اصلي تحقيق پرسش­نامه و با استفاده از طيف ليكرت به دنبال آزمون فرض فرضيات تحقيق است به اين طريق كه در ابتدا تمامي داده­ هاي پرسش­نامه به محيط نرم افزاري spss برده شد. روايي اين تحقيق از طريق آلفاي كرونباخ ارزش عددي 0/839 محاسبه شد، تعداد پرسشنامه ها از طرق فرمول كوكران و با ضريب خطاي 5 درصد برابر 140 عددمي ­باشد (تعداد پرسش­نامه ها از طريق فرمول مذكور 384 عدد اما بنابر نظر اساتيد تعداد 140 عدد ملاك عمل قرار گرفت) و پس از تعيين نرمال و غير نرمال بودن داده­ ها از آزمون­ هاي نيكويي برازش بهترين روش براي اندازه ­گيري فرضيات آزمون t تك نمونه­ ي و آزمون كندال سي استفاده شده است. نتايج تحقيق از طريق آزمون كندال سي نشان دادكه بين جنسيت و شدت و ضعف رضايت آنان از عملكرد مشاركتي شهرداري در پروژه ­هاي مسكن ارتباط معناداري وجود دارد كه با احتمال 95 درصد مي­ توان ادعا كرد كه بين جنسيت و رضايت از عملكرد شـهرداري همبستگي ضعيف اما معني ­داري وجود دارد. فرض دوم اين تحقيق نيز درآزمون t تك نمونه ­­اي بيان­گر اين مهم است كه با احتمال 95 درصد مي­ توان ادعا نمود كه اين ميزان مشاركت از نظر افراد تحت نمونه كم­تر از 50 درصد است
