از جمله تصاوير مهم بلاغي كه در بررسي و شناخت سبك شخصي هر شاعر نقش مؤثري ايفا ميكند، كاربرد چشمها و آيينه‌ها و ميزان استفاده شاعر از اين واژه‌ها است. اهميت اين مسأله در شعر برخي از شاعران به ويژه شاعران سبك هندي به حدي است كه از طريق آن ميتوان به بسياري از سليقه‌ها، باورها، آرزوها و خواسته‌هاي شاعر پي‌‌برد. بيدل دهلوي (1054-1133 ه.ق)، يكي از برجسته‌ترين شاعران سبك هندي است كه در غزليات خود به فراواني از اين امكان بهره گرفته است. هدف از اين پژوهش توصيفي- تحليلي، بررسي نوآوريهاي هنري و بسامد معنايي چشم و آيينه در غزليات بيدل دهلوي ميباشد. نتيجه تحقيق حاكي از آن است كه شاعر با نگرش و بياني خلّاقانه از لفظ چشم و آيينه، با بسامد چشمگيري به عنوان نقشمايه و نماد چند معنايي و محور ساختاري تصاوير بلاغي در جهت بيان انديشه‌هاي شاعري- عرفاني، زيبايي شعر، هماهنگي و تناسب بخشيدن به اجزاي كلام استفاده نموده است.
