A brief introuduction to the book " JahanNamayehJadid", and it's contribution to the iranians recognition about European countries

براي شناخت ساير كشورها برگردان يكي از ابزار مهمّي است كه گاه به ياري كنكاش­گران تاريخ و جغرافياي ملل مختلف مي­شتابد. در زمان قاجار با تلاش برخي از ايرانيان برگردان كتاب­ها و نوشتار­هاي اروپايي زير نظر گروهي از كارآزمودگان آغاز گرديد. برگردان اين آثار برجسته مي‌توانست در پيشبرد شناخت اروپا براي مردم ايران، نقشي بسزا داشته باشد. يكي از اقداماتي كه در اين عصر داراي نمودي ويژه است، گردآوري كتابي تحت عنوان جهان نماي جديد بود كه بعد از سفارت اميركبير به ارزنة­الروم از برگردان كتاب­هاي تاريخ و جغرافياي اروپا گردآوري شد و به گسترش شناخت ايرانيان از اروپا كمك كرد. در اين نوشتار تلاش بر اين است كه سهم اين كتاب در زمينۀ آگاهي دادن به ايرانيان روشن گردد.

Translation is an important tool which helps researchers to recognize historical and geographical aspects of various nations and countries. At the time of Qajar dynasty, some Iranians began to translate various European books and literature under the supervision of the professionalists. Translating this outstanding works played an important role in improving the understanding of Europe for the Iranian people. One of the brilliant achievements of this era was Compiling a book entitled "JahanNamayehJadid", compiled from translating of European historical and geographical books after Amir kabir′s assignment as Ambassador inArzanat.
