هدف پژوهش حاضر مقايسه باورهاي غيرمنطقي انتخاب شغل بين فارغالتحصيلان شاغل و غيرشاغل مراجعه-كننده به اداره كار شهرستان برازجان در سال 89- 88 بود. حجم نمونه پژوهش شامل 150 نفر بود. روش نمونهگيري بهصورت نمونه در دسترس شامل 75 نفر از فارغالتحصيلاني كه در ميانگين زماني كمتر از دوازده ماه شاغل شدهاند؛ و 75 نفر از فارغ-التحصيلان جوياي كار كه در ميانگين زماني كمتر از يك سال از مراجعين به اين مركز بودند بود. ابزار پژوهش شامل يك پرسشنامه كه براساس رويكرد درمان عقلاني-عاطفي-رفتاري اليس (REBT) توسط محققساخته شد، صورتگرفت. سوال اصلي پژوهش اين -بود كه آيا بين ميزان باورهايغيرمنطقي انتخاب شغل در فارغالتحصيلان شاغل و غيرشاغل تفاوت وجود دارد؟ نتايج نشان داد كه بين ميزان باورهاي غيرمنطقي انتخاب شغل در فارغالتحصيلان شاغل و غيرشاغل تفاوت معنيداري وجود دارد؟ بنابراين فارغالتحصيلان غيرشاغل در مقايسه با فارغالتحصيلان شاغل باورهاي غيرمنطقي انتخاب شغل بيشتري دارند. همچنين بين فارغالتحصيلان شاغل و غيرشاغل در مقايسه با تاييد انتخاب شغل از نظر ديگران، ناكامي در انتخاب شغل مورد علاقه؛ و مسئوليت-پذيري در انتخاب شغل تفاوت معنيداري وجود داشت. ولي در بُعد وابستگي به پارتي و نااميدي نسبت به تغيير انتخاب شغل بين دو گروه تفاوت معنيداري وجود نداشت.
