Explaining the Middle East Security Context and the Possible Cooperation of Iran and the West in Combating Salafist-Takfiri Groups

اين مقاله به بررسي معماي امنيتي خاورميانه و مبارزه با جريان هاي سلفي- تكفيري دراين منطقه و تاثير آن بر روابط ايران و غرب(آمريكا) مي‌ پردازد. سئوال اصلي كه اين پژوهش درصدد پاسخگويي به آن مي‌ باشد اين است كه چگونه مبارزه با گروه‌هاي سلفي-تكفيري مي‌تواند زمينه همكاري ميان ايران و غرب باشد؟ فرضيه اصلي پژوهش اين است كه به واسطه تهديدات فوري اين جريان‌ها هم براي غرب و هم براي ايران، مبارزه با جريان افراطي سلفي- تكفيري در منطقه خاورميانه مي‌‌تواند زمينه بهبود روابط ايران و غرب و همكاري آنها براي برطرف كردن تهديد فوري را فراهم آورد. يافته‌هاي تحقيق نشان مي‌ دهد كه تهديدات امنيتي مشترك مي‌‌تواند دشمنان را هم در كنار هم قرار دهد. از اين ديدگاه و با در نظر گرفتن اينكه جهادي‌هاي تكفيري تهديدات مشابه امنيتي براي دولت‌هاي ايران و غرب در منطقه خاورميانه ايجاد كرده‌اند بنابراين پتانسيل‌هاي همكاري ميان اين دولت‌ها وجود دارد. روش در اين مقاله، توصيفي-تحليلي است.

Explaining the Middle East Security Context and the Possible Cooperation of Iran and the West in Combating Salafist-Takfiri Groups. This research examines the security Dilemma of the Middle East and the struggle against the Salafist-Takfiri currents in the region and its impact on Iran-Western relations. The main question that this study seeks to answer is how can the struggle with the Salafist-Takfiri groups be the basis for cooperation between Iran and the West? The main hypothesis of the study is that, with the immediate threats to both the West and Iran, the fight against the extreme Salafi-Takfiri movement in the Middle East can provide an opportunity for improving the relations between Iran and the West and their cooperation to overcome immediate threats. Research findings suggest that common security threats can even bring together enemies. From this point of view, and given that the Takfiri jihadism have created similar security threats for the Iranian and American governments in the Middle East, there are potentials for cooperation between these states. The research method in this paper is descriptive-analytic.
