Determination of N-nitrosomorpholine using square wave voltammetry

An electrochemical study of N-nitrosomorpholine using square wave voltammetry is presented. N-nitrosomorpholine is a carcinogenic compound that is produced in diesel motor combustion. A fast method for the determination of N-nitrosomorpholine by passing the gases through water and measuring by square wave voltammetry is proposed. The described procedure permits the determination of quantities higher than 0.03 μg ml−1. The results are compared with results obtained by gas chromatography–mass spectrometry.
