Abstract
The results of an analysis of the collision between the links of a self-locking system, obtained on the basis of a modified dynamic model which differs in one of the colliding links having an additional degree of freedom which, in the case of a real, for instance, worm mechanism, corresponds to the wormʹs longitudinal displacement, are presented. Generalized conditions are derived in the form of constraints imposed on the parameters. The conditions determine the existence and specific features of the realization of various modes of collision between the links. Several nonstandard effects accompanying the impact interaction under consideration ("constrained" impact with friction) are revealed. It is shown that the derived relations include, as a special case, similar relations derived earlier using a lower-order model with the worm fixed in the axial direction.
